Why do you care what other people believe?

are you saying that i can't find love for the simple fact that i've never once in my life gone to a church service, minus of course forced sessions such as going to christenings and the like??
i was brought up non religious, like i said, never been to a church service, ever, on my own willingness.. i don't see how you can say someone can't find love with out religion, if in fact that's what you're saying..
Well, there's always Hollywood or Mills & Boons

Who are we to judge?
Are we not taught that we all stand before our respective Gods to be judged post mortem?
Are WE gods?
No mere mortal should try and judge another for his beliefs any more than one sentient being should hurt another.
This, of course, is only my opinion and you are, by divine right, free to disagree.

you say religion has got us where we are today , but thats not a good thing , religion has actualy held us back for many many years and we would be far more advanced today if we had never had religion , and just look at how many people have lost there lives through religion .

You have no basis to make these claims. I'm from a abusive home and was "taught" to be a drunk abusive piece of crap. But guess what bud? I'm not. I do not drink and I have never even been in a fist fight.

And I can tell you, jesus had zero to do with that.

Intelligence had 100% to do with that.

Religion has not taught humans what we already have acquired in birth, our instincts, our emotions. Religion is just a way to try to explain and understand those feelings and instinct, but 4000+ years ago the best humans could come up with was stories of grandeur about Gods and Goddess, till simplified even more, down to one god.

If hate was such a powerful force, then why are humans still around? Why hasn't all that taught hate snowballed out of control bringing with it man kinds downfall? You can't say religion because religions teach indifference.
But, you were let loose in the world as I was. The world is torn between love and hate. You and I got to chose.

But, if it is all hate and fear, there is no way for you to know different.

You could be raised in a Brown Shirt cadre. Many were in under Nazi rule. And they were taught what to love and how to hate.

They had breeding camps where it was, paired up sex, of 16 year olds. Pregnant and returned to home to raise babies without fathers.. Seems normal? But, there were also homosexual cadres where all was not so normal as I might like.

And I think you really mean there is nothing you know to back this up. But, I do. There have been many experiments in raising children, as farm animals even. You have to be taught how to speak, and if you are not taught that, most of humanity cannot be taught.

This world is fucked up, the only way to ignore the suffering and our inability to get rid of greed and coexist with one another as equals, is to pretend that everything is ok, that it is all part of some sort of divine plan...

That is where religion comes in.

It gives us excuses and alibi's to accept the world the way it is, instead of actually doing something to make it change for the better.

Religion allows us to sit, think and hope (PRAY) rather than take action to rid this world of evil... at least some.

Why care what others believe? Because a lot of times people believe in fucked up shit, and it is more harmful to our human animal race's existence to believe one thing rather than another.

Shit here is fucked up, but religious or spiritual people have the ability to ignore it and pretend that everything is ok, or at the least sooner than later everything WILL be ok. And all they have to do is pray, or meditate, or dream, or some other dumb fucking excuse to sit around all day and do fucking NOTHING about making this world a better place for our children to live.

Shit pisses me off sometimes, i do not apologize for the drunk rant.

There are lots of lazy, non-religious folks who do nothing and hope for the best. I can sometimes forgive that. Even more concerning, Z, is that many religious people aren't counting on the world to get better, they are actually looking forward to its DESTRUCTION! For only through its destruction can the rapture take place and they finally get there eternal, just reward. THAT is some perverse shit...
