Why do noobs ask so many questions?

My friend CannaSeur has helped me in many a thing & in person, face to face.. (the man can grow, tops like eggplants).. I get his point, but I'm still willing to try to help, even the stupid questions. If it's valid, (not the piss or shit on plant stuff) I know from my point that most of the FAQ advice comes from "pro's" which is good, but there are people that don't know all the terms used by experienced growers, colas. nodes, pistils and the like..You could search for days and then, when you find your answers, you've lost the thread you were on. I do not suffer fools well.............................but a serious question....?
And even with the pro's there are different opinions...1 does this, and the other does that, but both grow forests...To me, I like to get multiple replies and see the most common, in my price range, in my space available. Not everyone can do what the FAQ section advises....if only we could......so us people are sometimes left to feel like pains in ass because we can't afford a HPS with fans, scrubbers, grow tents, 14 types of food.....etc......I'm just an old hippie who believes that in the pot culture....you help...............fdd never seems to not have time for even the stupid questions...but yes he will point people towards the FAQ................. Just my opinion. :)

I'm a newb.....just harvested my first grow....5 ounces from 1 plant......That being said, I spent many hours on the net reading during my grow....there is a lot of conflicting info regarding growing pot.....I asked newb questions just to get as many opinions as possible and then made choices based on that info......Thanks to all of RIU for answering all my dumb ass questions!!!!!!

because at some point they were uninformed like you and didnt know what to do so they did the same thing that you did and looked for information via the internet or other sources. Im sure you didnt just pull out a hemp seed put it in some dirt and magically grow an amazing strain of weed where the plant had not a single deficiency or imperfection the entire grow. and Im sure you had help or asked questions whether it was online or from friends.

so.... you were a noob once too. NOOB!
yeah but there is a difference between a noob that researches and reads alot and one that just asks a million questions on RIU but doesnt want to do the work themself. Noone taught me anything firsthand, I had to research it all and bring my knowlegde here to people who deserve it and try to grow properly and respect the cannabis.

Your right, theres alot of conflicting info, and It's hard to weed through the crap, and thats def where this place comes in handy. I had no help with that kinda stuff and had many failed experiments that taught me ALOT. But it is nice to help people not make those mistakes and tellem why another way may be better.

The only STUPID question is the one that goes unasked...

If no one asked questions on here there would be no information to search through...

when i started growing "internet" was not even a word yet.

water, food, light. not a whole lot more to it than that. most noob questions can be answered in 1 sentence. "it needs nitrogen, 12/12 to flower, kill your males....."

you all should see my PM box. you think you have questions to answer.

doesn't it feel good to help?

nice grow johnny, hope i played a small role in that.:blsmoke:

What about..... "I threw some seeds from a bag of compressed Mexican shwag into some dirt from my backyard and now they have popped out of the soil. What strain are they and how much will they yield?"

I've read quite a bit of your threads....Very Informative....With alot of the info I read at RIU, I have to gauge it's writers experience, bias and look for supporting opinions to there advice...However, your wisdom I accept as undeniable truth as though it was God himself that replied to my question <<<<<:spew:

If it wasn't for forums, & me asking questions to more experienced members, I wouldn't be the person I am today.

I've learnt how to grow plants through here and other internet resources. I've learnt how to write code for my Nintendo Wiimote to operate Vista. I've learnt how to pick locks (including high security) by asking questions on a lockpick forum. I've learnt how to build a car from the ground up (with 300 angry horses to boot) because of a forum I use.

There's loads more things I do for hobbies, all thanks to the internet, & forums & also because the more knowledgeable peeps were willing to share information.

I dunno about anyone else, but I feel quite satisfied when I've helped a total stranger accomplish something just by passing on info that was passed on to me.

Keep the chain going! Help people to grow green, you should feel good inside knowing you've helped someone get growing! ;)

hi all,
I guess im a noob, i think i always wil consider myself a noob because theres sooooo much to learn, and things change and discoveries are made, so it's impossible to know it all... that said, i researched for about 3 years before my wife gave the green light, and i would rather try to figure things out on my own by searching the site, plus it's fun. there's some funny people here.

I think most noobs ask seemingly dumb quesions probably because thy never intended on really growing anything.
They find a seed, throw it in some dirt, and low and behold it starts growing!!!! "NEAT!!!! FREE WEED!!"

then dying... "SHIT WHAT DO I DO NOW!?! SOMEBODY HEEEELLLLPPP!!!!!!!!!"

that leads to a lot of dumb sounding questions to someone who actually prepared.

Anyway, you can help them or ignore them.
No reason to get pissed at them.

It's the back + forth. "When I grew mine they did this" and someone else had no problems and what they did....that how you learn.....

I've only been using RIU for maybe a month (2) and I can't believe how many people ask the same, already answered 10,000 times, stoooop-id questions day after day after day. It DOES NOT make me feel like helping them after I answered the same question the day I signed up to this site's forums. It DOES make me wish I could reach out thru my monitor and smack em' upside their pin-heads!
Geeze . . . pay attention! It ain't rocket science. Grow a garden, NooBs.
