Why do HID lights have better penetration?

What have you proven other than your bias.

1K Gavita X3 = 1755W of heat, that much we know
Do you honestly think you are still in a position to accuse anyone of bias? You've been misleading people about HPS and LED for years (parroting icmag...). You can can project your own typical behavior and flaws on me all you want, it doesn't affect reality.

I was pretty specific, is your reading comprehension failing you? I'd be growing over 2gpw with that LED based on YOUR math. Shit doesn't add up. And if you want to know why, go back to one of our first discussion lol...

Again, your heat and IR spike argument is not nearly as good as you think it is (according to real horticulture experts...). Some day you're going to find that out. Be a man then and @Tag me when you do.

Yes you should be well over 2 gpw growing big bud hydro for yield with COBs, and I expect many growers will be.

If you turn out to be right I will scrap a 59% efficient flowering lamp and switch back to HID, I will tag you for sure

I don't care a whole lot about the infrared spike, it is just one more thing I don't miss about HID.

No, you only care about it when it suits you to mislead people like pretending that spike is additional loss. Same thing with pretty much every other characteristic of LED.

Specifically, your bias is called
Simple, Pain-Avoiding Psychological Denial
The reality is too painful to bear, so one distorts the facts until they become bearable.

You are too attached to the result to be objective

Certainly isn't a good thing for most of us... 93* cannopy temps with hps vs 84 with LED... I'm not complaining about the loss of that spike either.

You have a similar desperate level of discussing Church has. Grabbing things out of context and taking them to the extreme. It's not the efficiency numbers that are entirely bullshit, but the resulting claims and conclusions and HPS hating (leading to people doing anything but balance their checkbook). Need money to balance your checkbook, put a Gavita 6/750 DE above 4x4' and do 6 runs a year. Or buy the 315w cmh.
It must be rubbing off on you as well then. You're so fixated on this '3x the price' theory when we've demonstrated several times that isn't always the case.... You don't seem to care that not everyone lives in the netherlands and most have heat issues 9 out of the 12 months of the year.

everybody learns here except you and i feel like you are preaching the magic spectrum of HPS
You won't learn anything from putting up straw mans. Refuting a false claim from LED preachers that HPS sucks doesn't automatically mean I preach HPS. I know the LED fans have this reach-around thing going on to help them convince each other of their dogma....

But.... have you noticed the title of this thread? :?

I obtained a 'B' in Applied Calculus (8-credit course)... does that make me special? :dunce:

I honestly believe Sativied enjoys the negative tossbacks between the LED crew here. The same goes for a few of us on this side. Why are we constantly bashing heads with this unicorn? We know, as experienced growers, who are currently implementing this wonderful technology, that our numbers can't be that far off, as results have been nothing but exceptional for us.

I have yet to come across any NEGATIVE feedback from a grower who has used Vero or Cree (3070, 3590) COBS and I've been here since last fall. Instead, everyone, including myself, has documented stellar numbers/results and fucking loves the 'eggs'.

To answer your question, Sativied, I thought it would help to bold the statement I was questioning, as well as the question itself (for clarity).

200w of low bin cob. Much higher efficiency available now..

I have a 250 hps boxed up somewhere. It can't grow plants this big, not even close.

Is there magic in a gavita that will change the outcome?

Results are the truth.

Put up or shut up fool. Everyones ready to be proven wrong, your just nowhere near achieving that.

You make a good point @AquariusPanta . Charlie Munger said something along the lines of

You're not entitled to take a view, unless and until you can argue better against that view than the smartest guy who holds that opposite view. If you can argue better than the smartest person who holds the opposite view, that is when you are entitled to hold a certain view.

I do believe Sativied is somewhat intelligent, despite the bias. And although he does not want to give us credit for it, he did learn something about how we use COBs among other things.

It has nothing to do with results. The math to calculate efficiency has not actually been refuted. It's only been solidified and agreed upon by more and more members. Sativied has not come up with any actual criticism for the math other than I copied, which is dumb as hell. People who don't copy anything are called stubborn people.

If you think we're calculating efficiency wrong, calculate it yourself and show us how you did it. Show us how our math is wrong.
