Okay so.

ive only tried one strain but am in my second round now with THIS particular one. I have n o problems with my blackjack which is indica Dom, anyway they veg out fine for the most part. Very fast growth, raising lights all the time. All of that. But 2-3 weeks into flower and BOOM. Super yellowing, crazy loss of leaves. And then I try and counter it with more nutes and end up with signs of toxicity. Really!!? I'm starting to feel like its just lousy genetic as they were freebies from a not so well known bank, or I just suck when it comes to growing sativa:wall:

p.s I don't have nearly as many probs with my other ladies and If I do I usually pinpoint and fix it fairly quick

I'm on my second plant, first was Indica this one is Sativa dom.

At 5 weeks of flower My plant started to crash, yellowing leaves, burning tips.

I now believe Sativas need veg Nutes for at least 8 weeks of the expected 12 weeks. ( nitrogen )

This Saturday will be 6 weeks and I am still trying to balance what's going on.

I lowered my PPM under 400 From over 1000 , I started to add veg food and I will continue with very low dosage of Nutes.
1tsp each, tiger bloom, grow big, big bloom.
My Indica plant needed more magnesium than this Sativa plant I'm currently flowering.
I used Epsom salt on my Indica, the Sativa seems to need much lower doses of all foods.

I hear ya man. So annoying. Thinking about it I don't know if I gave enough nutes during pre flower/stretch. And being that their demand for food skyrockets for that1-3 week period. She might have spent all her stored up N then and still hasn't recovered. And then my Johnny come lately ass come in with tons of nutes but to late and burnt her. I'm glad they were some unknown freebies tho.

Friend gave me a seed which he isn't sure but knows its either blue dreams or three kings(which I never herd of). Either case I'm excited

i grew a greenhouse thai plant(pretty much all sativa) my first grow with no issues. people posted on my posts that they could not believe it was a sativa or that it was my first grow, etc. i may have been lucky but i have completed my second grow and have had success on both. granted my second grow was a couple of master kush which are more of a sativa/indica hybrid but i wonder if it was my nutes. i grow in soil and use general hydroponics gobox and i just followed the recommendation on the box. the stuff was pretty cheap like around $40 for the veg and bloom. here is a link to it... http://generalhydroponics.com/site/index.php/products/general_organics/go_box/

i am growing a new batch of 2 of the thai plants now. they are about 4 weeks old and one is starting to look a little nitrogen deprived so i may be in the same boat as you. i just started giving nutes earlier this week so i will see how it goes.

good luck...

Hmm.....What nutes and how much when? PICS HELP!
I might guess you hit it with too much P&K to early (early onset/degree of yellowing)... Dog is exactly on track with changing to flower nutes LATER then with Indica's. The same is true for any increase in P&K you might attempt for the bulking phase!
True Sativa's and many sativa dominate strains require less food and more patience! I find that using a lower concentrate formula and alternating between feeding and an AACT tea gives me better more controllable results ( you also use less nutes saving good $).
When I began growing a long time ago, it took me several grows on sativa strains to "dial" them in. I still take at least 2 grows to perfect my method for new strains.

Good luck!

What strain are you growing, that would help to know as different strains have different requirements. Like was said, some need veg nutes, or at least a veg/early flower blend for the first few weeks, which could be dependent on the flowering time. Some plants fall into a lull as they switch to flowering then have big growth after the first week or two. Dutch passion's Durban Poison is a fairly easy sativa to grow and their genetics, at least on that strain, have been extremely consistent for me. 8 week flower according to them, i usually end up going 9, im mostly organic though, ill use GH 3 part if i think it needs it. best advice Ive heard, and its saved me a couple times, if you think there's a nute problem, flush, flush, flush, give it a time to dry out, a day or two, see how its doing, feed lightly if needed.

I think your rite. I switched over to flower nutes rite away. My indicas were able to handle it but not the sativa. I don't think it's the best genes either it was from. A freebie pack when I got my blackjack and it was from what I found out later a not so reputable site to purchase from. They were advertised as indica sativa mix nut it's def more on the sativa side just from looking at it. Know anything about subs super soil? I'm making the revised version which calls for potassium sulfate which I'm waiting for in the mail..last ingredient and I just need to cook it and I should be set for a few runs..next time I'm sourcing my seeds from so,done a oil more well known prob sea of seeds or attitude. And I'm running veg nutes till week2-3flwr...all of this is till my soil finishes cooking:fire:

I'm into sunshine mix 4 soil in 15 gallon smartpots, and have always found sativas to be more sensitive to ph. I had the same problem with gh Hawaiian Snow, as well as other sativas till I solved it, now I add one eight teaspoon ph+ to a gallon of my well water get to 5.5/6.0, and the strain went from a pain I the ass to one of my favorites.

i mixed a batch of the old super soil recipe ( with some amendments for ingredients i couldn't readily get) 3 years ago and used it for 2 seasons. I like it alot, i was gorilla growing and the plants, a mix of indica and sativas, ran their course without any problems. I only vistied them once a week, maybe every other week, or if there was a drought id go out. It truly is a water only soil.

How well did it get through flower? That's were I hit problems. Usually starts with defficiency that leads to an overdose cuz I try to fix it. So I'm making the super soil in hopes of avoiding problems during flower

like i said i ran it without anything but water through the whole cycle... wait, i did use some molasses during weeks 5-7, but thats more for soil health/microbiology. if anything i should have cut the super soil with some more base soil, it was still very nutrient rich when they were done. I only try to run strains that are a 8-9 week flower, outdoor season is way too short around here. I think you'll really like it. I recycle my soil into my compost and use it for my vegetable gardens the next season and it always still has enough nutes to grow some crazy tomatoes and peppers.

watch your ass with those peppers. I do the same thing, and I swear it makes the hot peppers twice as hot. Drives everyone out of the house when I cook with them! and if you haven't tried them, cross country nursery here in nj is the bomb for exotic, rare tomtoes and peppers you are just not going to find elsewhere. I've been buying plants from them for years and never got a bad one. Google them and ask for a catalog.
