Hi All,

What do you do with all your trash (i.e. rockwool, stems, leaves, empty nutrient bottles)??? Looking for some safe ideas.

I burn all kinds of stuff.

you fucking assholes burn your plastic nute bottles? :cuss: thats real great.

i personally compost anything that will burn(HELLO! if it doesnt compost you shouldnt burn it!) and anything that wont burn gets thrown into my trash. yes, the trash. we have those huge rolling bins that the trashman just rolls to the side of the truck and the truck does the rest. im always having coffee and herb when they come by so i wheel it out just as they roll up, stand there bullshitting while it gets dumped, and wheel that fucker back to the garage.

trust me too burn it

if you can't burn it throw it away far far away from you

otherwise they will be looking in your area for a grower

FYI, not everybody lives in an area that has access to a recycling program. Plus I live "out" of town & I burn the damn things. Not lots, just the stuff that points to my "special" hobby.

I agree. Burning plastics is just not necessary.

If you're really concerned about being busted, take the label off your nutrient bottles with some nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol and just pitch it as you normally would.

Last time I checked though, it was legal to purchase nutrients to grow plants, so disposing of them shouldn't be that big of a deal...

or do like i said, once a month when you have questionable trash just walk it down to the curb when the trashmans pulling up. if by some freak chance he rips open the bag and declares that he is going to call the cops throw him in his own garbage truck and hit 'compact'.

So many great ideas, guys, thanks!!

Unfortunately with rockwool--I think--all you can do is trash it, far, far away. It's just a huge pain in the ass.

As far as burning the stems and leaves, wouldn't the neighbors smell it?

As far as peeling the labels off, I actually didn't even think of that. I would be scared though, because EVERY night before trash day, there are vagrants sifting through my recycling looking for whatever. If they put two and two together, they might consider robbing me, no? I recycle EVERYTHING else though, so it kills me to just trash all those bottles!!

actually, you can kind of burn RW. it will melt into little glass beads with no ill effect on the environment.

can you meet the trash/recycle man whenever you have questionable garbage like i said?
