Hey guys how's it going? This is my first indoor grow. Right now I am using a 130 watt cfl with reflector my plants are about 2 weeks old just wondering when I should change to metal halide? I have my plants in canna terra professional temps are always at 24-25c just got my self a ph metre and have started watering at 6.0 with a run off at 5.8. The smaller plant had a ph problem but have fixed it still haven't fed them anything

I have my self a cool tube and exhausts to go with it. Should I put it say 30cm away from tops?

Yeah, that seems okay...just keep an eye out, it doesn't take long to fry a seedling!
If it's comfortable for you to hold your hand over the tops then it's comfortable for your ladies ...

Plants are droopy today have no idea why. It's since I changed to metal halide should of just stayed with cfl
Funny, my babies are a bit younger but same thing.... went from 2 standard household CFL's to a 600 watt MH and are droopy, I did however just water them so im waiting to see whats up and make a distinctive diagnoses!

Yeah weird as hey. I'm just let these pots dry out a bit I have always been scared to use HID lol this the reason being I'm pretty sure they just got to much heat or maybe even to much spectrum

Don't be afraid of H.I.D, be afraid of H.I.V
In my case they aren't too hot I have a cooltube and if you don't feel any real warmth on your hand when sticking it in the canopy your set.
Also too much spectrum? no such thing and quite a silly suggestion and doesn't really even make sense :P can never get too much light man.

Yeah as stated as long as you dont feel any serious warming on your hand when sticking them on the tops your fine on temp and cannabis cannot get enough light, it will take as much as you can give it!

You can start seedlings under a 1000 if you want, many do. It's the jump from low watts to high that can fry em. I start seedlings in direct sun with no issues, just like in nature.
