Well, cannabis is the new zucchini in Oregon. Anyone I know drives past a minimum of 5 dispensaries on their way to me. It’s nothing more than an expensive hobby at this point.
Raise your price a man has to pay bills and eat. They will pay fore better than average weed.

True...but for how much? The deal with legalization and dispensaries isn't about price....it's about convenience. Your weed may be better...but they will still go where they can buy weed, edibles, hash/etc. all in one stop.....>legally<. While some may be wary of going into the dispensaries...it is a legal transaction. Buying pot from individuals here...or selling pot...falls under the OLD laws...with stiff penalties/etc. and is not a legal transaction.

And then there's "supply"....and that good old "demand" thing. There's so much weed here...nobody is looking! Maybe to sell YOU some...but they will likely laugh in your face if you ask if they need any "good" weed. It's all good...and plentiful. And cheap.

Make it while you can....cus the whole "Craft beer" thing is a falsehood/bad example. Go to the grocery here....there must be 200 "craft" beers to choose from... all priced about the same....nobody 's sign says "Top Shelf"....nobody's beer brewed at home is getting ANY attention cus it can't be showcased or sold legally.. just like home crafted weed here.

Alaska. Ounces going as low as $100 legal. Street prices are cheaper. Going into the industry is only for the well heeled. Limited grows are limited to 500 square feet. Considering all requirements you are looking at around $50K before you ever chop your first ounce.

Unlimited? You can grow 1000 acres if you can cover it 24/7 with video feed to the state and it’s contained per state regulations. $5000 just for the actual license. $1000 for limited grows.

Folks won't get it til it happens. I had a hard time and about 2 years of doing all i could (lowering prices) and focusing on quality....to no avail.... to hedge off the inevitable. Went from 3 units per month to 1/2.....then it went to a 1/2 every 3 months. Not worth the time anymore to f with it and take the risk.

Make it while ya can folks. The ride is about to end....

When it come legit nation or world wide the prices will drop a crap load as there will be so much weed it go for 200-300$ a pound or less, i know alot of people in illegal state who want it to stay that way so they can make money. Plus you know how people can be getting a thrill rush off doing some they know is illegal. Lol

No it won't. I don't care how good you think your weed is. Nobody is going to pay top dollar from an illegal dealer when they can get an oz of decent weed for $70. And the fear of going to a dispensary is long gone. There are so many in the Portland area that there is no way anyone is monitoring all of them. And the people going to them come from all walks of life, ages, races, backgrounds, etc... It's like going to a 7/11 to buy a six pack. Nobody even cares. I can drive a mile in any direction from my house and pass numerous dispenseries all with signs and banners advertising oz's for $70 or less. People that think they are going to grow and sell weed in Oregon for a profit without being in the system are wrong. I know of half a dozen people that have gotten out of the business after selling weed for decades. Some are now taking jobs through temporary staffing agencies just to pay the bills because they have no real job skills from selling weed their entire lives. GOOD weed means nothing. Anyone can grow good weed and many do.

The underground growers in Oregon are starving. I don't care how good you think your weed is. You are not going to make money growing and selling to the black market in Oregon. There is so much weed here that you can trip and fall over a pile just walking down the sidewalk in Portland. People that think there will always be people willing to pay for their so called "Top Shelf" are fooling themselves. Nobody cares about how you grew your weed, what strain it is, blah blah blah. They'll go down to a legal dispensary and buy an oz of decent weed for $70 instead of buying from some illegal pot dealer. FACT.

Oregon Senate Passes Bill to Halt Cannabis Licensing for 2 Years

The legislation comes nearly three months after the state Liquor Control Commission reported the state had more than 6.5 years of oversupply with the current market’s demand.

For me it’s flowing quite well I agree with most that a lot of guys jumped in the game thinking they can cash in but again I’m seeing dudes pump out a lot of B and C grade trying to get top prices. So yes there’s a solid market alive for real quality thats not mass produced. Less means more slow means fast

In Oregon, unless you are rec legal all you’re doing is smoking that top shelf to the dome. There’s a market but I can’t keep up with loss leaders at dispensaries. I’d rather give it away than sell at their prices.

Biggest lesson is that it completely shifted my perspective of what I want out of my garden if it’s all out of pocket now.

Outdoor/greenhouse is hard to sell at any price. Good indoor weed of a good strain is easier to sell for a decent price and keep them coming back.
Indoor glue, diesel or purple will move faster than any other strain. I have my outdoor processed into shatter.
What is the average return like 1 pound of good trimed out door buds how much shatter you get back??And what is the average cost to trun your weed in the shatter??Just woundering for not many around here doing it that I know of most just bring it in this county

Sounds about right. biggest thing I look for is flavor and somewhat reasonable finish in my winter hunts. Outdoor, high terpene strains are extremely valuable. 80% of outdoor goes to extract. Indoor is pretty much all headstash of testers for me at this point. I’m down to 1 1kw DE in 1 flower room. At the end of the day I’ve always been a single patient med grower and I just get less monetarily back. The upside is that I can share my passion freely and grow with my family, parents and grandma grow some serious chronic! #cannabisisthenewzucchi

Ounces of shatter sell for around $300 to 400 an oz. You can average around 10% return depending on the strain.
I have a guy that runs it for the cost of butane and a small percentage.

Misery loves company. Thanks guys. Sucks it's all crashing down but hey....ain't nobody coming no mo to kick in the do'.... so GROW THE FUCK ON. This will...as CSNY sang..."separate the wheat...from the chaff". Like Houstini...my focus has changed. I still grow the poundage but I make lots of hash and rosin and give the shit away to those who are ailing/sick in my world...and some who just like to get stoned.

Doesn't matter if it's indo or our outdoor if you make concentrates (no bu-tainted products here) with it. All my concentrates gonna lay your top shelf indo to waste. Don't smoke much straight up flower anymore around here....so yer flower gonna sit....and sit.... like it does in the shops. Flower is not the draw here....likely not elsewhere that is legal either. It's what you use to make the good stuff...LOL.
