What to transplant to . Pot size

should I go solo cups to 1 gal to 3 gal to 5 gal or solos to 1 gal to 5 gal.

400w hps 2.5x2.5x6 tent

Starting from seeds.

Tryna be Vegging 6-8 weeks from seed

1 gallon first, then 5 after it gets much larger.

If your lazy like me transplant straight into a 5 gal

2 weeks solo cup
2 weeks 1 gallon
3 weeks 3 gallon
1 week 5 gallon

8 week veg

U go from solo cups to 5 gal?

I use to do one transplant into the final pot. Since I started multiple transplants, I like the root development and plant growth much more than straight to the final pot.

I do a 2 step water only organic, with a veg and a bloom formulated soil!

I go Solo to 1's
1's to 2's and *
straight to 5's with the bloom soil - wait 8-10 days for roots to begin a nice spread and flip them.

*Variation*
1's to 3's and then straight to 7's or even 10's for long blooming sativa's

1 transplant is more than enough.

There's no need to do it more than once.

30 days in 1 gallon is enough time to reach sexual maturity and throw off male or female preflowers. Then pick your best females and throw them into final container.

so you would do like solo cups 2 weeks 1 gallon 4-5 weeks until sex shows then 5 gal for 2 weeks and flip 12/12

Go to next size pot saved,on nutrient cost

Awful short plant for a 5 gallon...Won't even reach the 1 zip per gallon of container size rule of thumb.

How big do you want to be? Better yet what are your limitations?

If your only going 4 weeks of veg. (I call it veg when they hit the solo) I wouldn't go over a 3 gallon pot, unless the plant is for some reason massive..

I have a 6 huge carbon filter lol that I ive had in the tent above the 400w air cooled hood hps .

It's a small tent I know that's why I'm tryna figure out how best to utilize it.

Plan on making a SCROG for it also.

I have no problem going 4-8 weeks veg

I only use solo cups for clone cuttings.

If I'm going straight from seed I go right into 1 gallons.

4 three gallon or six 1 gallon is my vote,since you have a 400w and a small tent
1/2oz-3/4oz per plant is my guess here

So 5 gallon buckets at 8 week veg is pointless?
