What light to get?

Led power supplies are as quiet as they can get.. Not even fan noise.. totally silent.. Turn em off and on as much as you want, no delay.. I have three DIY led lights.. A 35 watt EB strips for seedlings.. 135 watt Quantum board kit for veg and 400 watts of cobs for flower.. Cobs and quantum boards are about equal in growing power..
Seems everyone likes these cobs.....
I thought everyone was just trying to push them onto me, but if they're like the new age LED vs blurple LED, then I could be heading this direction with all of you

Ok well sounds good.
So if I went the cob way, how does the ballast sounds, loud humming or anything?
Turns on and off good, no delay because of power interference like you might get with MH & HPS???

I'll have to look into these kits, and I'd like a straIght forward lamp, no switching from veg to bloom, it would be better overall to get the grow done from seed to harvest under the same lighting.
See @HydroDan post about the things you want and also you can use the same light from go to wo.
Im sure if you look at the range of 3500 to 4000k they seem to be getting very good results.
The biggest issue with MH and HPS is the amount of wasted energy they put out into heat with leds you dont get this because of the way they light up.
There efficent kings,im sure its like this 60/40 and leds are the other way round and even less waste of energy.

I was a HPS guy,i bought 1 of these blurple panels when they first come out from some chinese seller god knows how long ago,but they have moved so far towards the good side now and the options you can use is waaay too much..
It depends on your grow style as well..
If you just grow indoors you would know massive 6ft plants dont make sense, small bushy stocky plants with numbers can get you turning round really quickly

I'm looking to upgrade from a basic CFL to something better, I did want MH/HPS ballast that supports both bulbs, or something....along these lines, I never bought one cause the heat output behind them is to much for my little space and I mean my house to ;)
under 500sq ft house pretty much no bedrooms and not the greatest house lay out so I can't just put my grow anywhere to.... it's difficult.
I do however wanna stay indoors fully until MAYBE I moved out to a house with a yard, and once it's legalized fully to cultivate.

So long story short I decovered LED would be better, we all know LED doesn't consume a whack of power, or put out lots of heat or virtually none.....so I tested out the blurple light, I liked it, so here I am.....
I was mainly posting here to say is this led i originally posted about "great for grow" /"it's just as good as other people say it is" etc, or kinda what some of these guys did here and posted literally their light fixtures and also links to the sites for recommended LED, all mostly saying cobkit.

I don't really want 6 foot trees ahaha, I would like to see them 3-4 feet total at harvest, also depends on LST?
But I would like shorter and bushy trees that have decently good yield, 1/2-1oz per plant and I'll be amazed at what I did. Anything beyond 1oz and I'll be shitting my pants.

First grow, probably won't be last.
Unless someone rolled in here that shouldn't be ;)

basically everything is better than CFL

thats not true. 100W of LED will heat up a room as much as 100W od CFL or HPS. but you need less wattage with LED so you'll get the smae amount of light with 50-70W and theres your heat savings

I am not a legal grower, never have been so stealth is a good start.
Lol 1 to 2oz plants if you have decent genetics and a decent light you will be pulling a bit more then that.
You use soil?
Organics or hydro?
This is what i would do,i would switch to coco and do hydro once you get it down pat,you will be saying wtf ive been growing in soil all this time and this is shit easy with coco......

Makes sense, but also answers my question really about how much heat these give off compared to what I'm running and etc. I know anything is better than CFL but first grow, I spent like 200$ on lights and 1000 on DWC, tent, vents, fans, accessories, the whole thing, seeds are from crop king, etc. And so if I'm still dealing with the same heat, maybe less if i only need 250watts but I'm running nearly 250watts I CFL right now! So same heat same problems, can't close my tent, need to test my options for proper ventilation cause I'm in an appartment building and I got AC basically sucking out the stink to the world sense I can't close my tent for ventilation cause it doesn't expel the heat fast enough unless plants like 25-30 degree weather

well youd replace those 250W of CFL with 125W of LED so half the heat

also plants under LED like it hotter so mid 80s is fine

I got the stealth set up but I need to close my tent door for it to work ahaha.
Currently growing or trying to grow crown royale which is a cross of purple kush and blueberry. It's moderate to grow, so not that easy? Idk.... it's nothing like northern lights or something that auto flowers or quick 3 month grow. It's going to grow for 4-6months minimum. 1.5 months veg or so, 2 months flowering I think.
But I do have seeds that are whatever, could be male or female, not good.... I don't wanna put it in there cause I don't want breeding or anything crazy.

I currently got organic soil crops happening now, I'm still setting up for RDWC but I have DWC Capability

Here's one of them, is one sits under blurple light currently.....
Only feed water so please ignore nuti burn.

And they smell soooooooooo good :)
I would pinch the 1 of the right and if your tent is 1.8 high and its getting over 35cm i would flip to flower....and keep traing it as it stretches out.
The only thing is dont like in organics is its harder to pump the right nutes in at the time you want it....

I do like blurple for my veg closet - I find it produces thick and dark leaves, which I imagine are well stocked up on reserve nutrients and good at absorbing light.

Pinch what, the dieing leaf?
I don't think it's doing anything more if that's what your saying.

Tent is 5 feet high, ill eventually have ventilation but it could go outside the tent I guess

Like this.

This means you can fill the space more efficient and get more from your lights...
Just make sure you have a fan running 24h a day..even in lights off cycle.
Fem plant is all i deal with, bought a auto once and my mind was blown away with no matter what light cycle i had it flowered...had to go back to my purchase to see wtf was going on...

I know what topping is, I didn't show you but the top of these clones I showed you I cloned right now so the top is in soil now growing further so I can make more clones and etc.

This is the top of which I made to root again, from the seed plant.IMG_0131.JPG

Also you would top them when they are only 8-12" high?
The one I showed that I got growing under blurple light, is only 5" high.

what LED to get?

I've been leaning towards this one on the upgraded scale:
View attachment 3972557 View attachment 3972558 View attachment 3972559
While only consuming 400 watts actual power, coverage will cover my entire 2x4 tent and have roughly 3 feet for plant growth.

Currently I'm running cfl which they're enough of to get some good growth, they really like this LED I got better as this tiny little plant is almost the same size that's sitting under CFL. Less time, like the results of this tester LED so here's what I got, it's 45w but it's actually consuming 36watts.
View attachment 3972560 View attachment 3972561 View attachment 3972562

What LED should I get that could actually match close to the one I have, larger scale.... or what's the better larger LEDs to get? Is the one I want suitable?

I wouldn't really like to spend more than 450$ on a light, preferably if it will cover my entire tent with optimal light, ultimately controlling my heating issue to.
This is the T22 I produce. The first couple readings in the center were a bit lower than the lamp in your post but I got a nice surprise as I measured outward. The T22 uses 200 watts from the wall. The true wattage of the lamp in your post is 418. Just goes to show, wattage and watts per foot can be very misleading.

looks like their bleached on the hairs or something? Or that normal?
I don't see what you're talking about.. White hairs are normal.. Bleaching turns leaves yellow/white.. Have you watched any of Growmau5's youtube videos?? They may help you..
