The difference is we are not all full of hate like you seem to be. You are the one saying that these people should not have the same rights as anyone else.

If Muslims were so caring for "us" they would put the mosque someplace else! They do not care about 911 widows or whatever, they do not understand because you have the right to do something that does not always make it right. To them it's about conquest. It's a symbol of victory in which case we are the ones defeated. Defeated right here in the heart our home. Right at ground zero the same place they succeded in attacking us on 911. The Imam told me opposing the mosque would lead to violence and I say that building it will lead to violence as well...
I say let them build it because I guarentee that it won't last long. Some crazy will wait till it gets full of muslims and blow them to hell. Wouldn't that be something.

Maybe you should branch out and make some muslim friends too.

You do get you can be a racist or bigot and not harbor ill will towards mexicans or black people right? Just because you thankfully got your eyes opened to how people are people regardless of skin color when it comes to those two races, doesn't mean you still dont have work to do.
you are right hanimmal, wish I had the ability to feel as you do. Wish I had the ability to sift through the politics and the media and world and always come up with the right answer. Maybe I am unwilling to see there are people behind the rhetoric which do not claim the hate like their leaders. Maybe I am unwilling to accept they are america as much as you and me. I do not go to church and could really care less about christians or jews or muslims... heaven or hell. Maybe that is really the problem. When religion is the root of the issue between the two cultures. The people I know in my life are people to me, they are not black, white, brown, pink. They are simply people just like the muslims who want the mosque built are people too.

lol the old "i got a black freind how can i be racist?" routine classy

yeah it might be hard telling an extremist muslim from a peaceful muslim. but i guess they probably have the same problem with americans how can they tell the douchebags from normal people just by looking?

i know people like you do everything you can to help them and us out by opening your mouth to confirm our suspicions. but why should we be forced to hear this crap before we can make that judgement?
We have to be able to tell which muslims are good and bad because they are out to kill americans. Americans arn't out running airplanes into their sky scrappers.

If that is a legit post, I am really impressed man. Not that means anything to you, I am not saying this sarcastically, i truly mean this. Seriously if you feel this way I apologize for calling you a racist bigot, because you can prove me wrong pretty quick just by looking at the situation this way.

Good luck man, I feel the same way about religion in general, so it is easy to see that there is good and bad in them all, and all of them are equally as weird to me too at this point.

Keep the open mind man, its pretty easy to see it is not too scary as it seems when you really start to look.

When you realize that you are far more likely to be killed by a very nice loving soccer mom than you are by some radical terrorist, it becomes a lot easier to realize nobody cares enough to be out to get anyone. And that is still very unlikely to happen. There is no reason to fear much in this world anymore.

I am poor, so maybe you are right
Even though I am half mexican, I grew up a poor white kid too, this is why I say these things. I saw racism all the time because everyone just assumed I was white and would say normal shit around me. It is easy to cast blame on other people, from immigrants taking jobs, to black people ruining detroit, to going to my grandfathers funeral and being stuck in a room of true blue southern hate mongerers talking about every race under the sun.

But when I mean poor, I did not mean poverty, I mean the 'whoa is me' mentality, that others are somehow out to get me. It seems to be humanities immediate response to any change, that somehow it is someone being out to take what little they have.

and you hate that dont you?
No, but at the same time it doesn't mean that we should allow the people that feel this way to say these things and not try to open up a conversation with them, both to see what they are truly afraid of, and if there is no logic in their fears to try to get them to understand it.

And at the times the reasons for their fears are legit we should address them and try to fix those issues before we go forward.

The whole absoluteism that is going on in America, its either all good or all bad, they are either out to get me, or our closest infallible ally, is horseshit. We really need to grow up and realize nobody cares enough about you to be out to get you, they just don't understand your situation because they don't have the same information about your life as you do.

Yes, yes, and yes. Forgive me for being a tad sarcastic, but I was trying to get you to look into your own words. You mentioned that you had multi-ethnic friends, and you did not see them as classified by race- you simply liked them for being a person with cares and concerns and problems and hopes. I'm not asking you to befriend someone that wants to hurt you or attack this country- I'm simply throwing out the idea that by getting to know someone of the muslim faith, you will more than likely chance your stance. We all have preconceived notions of things we don't truly know. These assumptions may be correct to an extent, but more often than not they are given to us by people that have no idea what they are talking about- unfortunately ignorance doesn't stop many people from preaching the wrong information.

Connecting with a person, face-to-face, is one of the easiest ways to look through the rhetoric being passed as truth; and being able to do this is either the hardest or the easiest things to do- it is what you make it.

why use aeroplane when a cruise missile/ unmanned drone does just as good a job?

how do you suggest telling the differnce between the 1.5 billion muslims and the 17 hijackers?

can the person behind controls of drone tell diffference at a few thousand feet?

how many innocent muslims must die before they're allowed to turn around and say same about america?

what exactly do you think you should do about the 1.5billion muslims seeing as theres 5 times as many of them as americans?

too much for you to believe? and you would know since you are so multicultural as well.
i dont believe i have once stated the ethnicity of any of the people i know. somehow i just havent felt the need to

but seeing as your so desperate to prove you case i guess some photo's would be needed for proof....

The people I know in my life are people to me, they are not black, white, brown, pink. They are simply people just like the muslims who want the mosque built are people too.
now there is a sentiment that i agree with

back to the original post...the imam wasn't making any type of a threat. he was simply pointing out that if people like blitzkrieg had their way, and stopped peaceful, moderate muslims from building a mosque (or went and threw their holy book into a bonfire), it would be used as a recruiting tool for the extremists around the globe. that is a totally sane claim to make.

yet blitz takes it as a threat....

this thread is already epic
Oh dear God:roll:
The imam is placing his stake, one by one, in support of every last muslim, WORLDWIDE.

However many "moderate" muslims there may exist in this country is so completely a non-issue.

When it comes down to a lifestyle they will support "in the end"......you can bet your ass FREEDOM will be nowhere in the equation.

Where is this country going?.......to hell in a handbasket.

It's when my integrity regarding my friends came into question... I have love for these people I mentioned whether you believe that or not. I do love empinadas and Jets games with my boy Wes. That shit your not taking from me. Why does that make what I said right? It does not. Maybe for you this thread was a bother or upsetting but for what it's worth I will take something away from it and I will take something away from what you have all said.

Good luck Blitz. Anyone that attacks you after your last couple posts just have not caught up to what you had said yet. A little residual bickering from earlier posts if anything.

Why must people always resort to accusations of racism?
That's not a "defense.":-|

I completely agree with some.....get to know a muslim. I mean to say, have some in-depths with them on several occasions.;)

would be well deserved... this post was fitting to our current world and state of our humanity. I believe we are at a crossroads in time. I really believe we are witness to not only the changing of america but perhaps even the end of it as we once knew it. Maybe on 911 this thread is relevant. IDK, either way thank you all for your posts. I gave you all rep yesterday and will give those new to thread today some rep as well. I find comfort there is wisdom left in the world.
