Some people call it a crutch or a filter. It's just like thicker paper at the mouth of the J for like a mouth piece. I always use a piece of my cig box. Keeps it from getting soggy and gross.

I can honestly say in the 9 years that I've been smoking joints/blunts I have never heard of using a crutch or filter....good idea though! haha......I've had a sheltered pot life!

There seems to be all different definitions of it ... I never defined a roach as the first definition in Urban Dictionary does...

I just call any remnant of a blunt/joint a roach.. I never put cardboard on them or anything.

Apparently the cardboard on the end is a British thing .. That may be why I've never heard the term roach for that.

It's not cardboard, it's card ;)

And you wouldn't because you're an American.

Each to their own :)

I remember seeing this video of a British guy explaining how differently they pronounce things from Americans ... It was very interesting.... He covered it all... I don't think it was rag.. It was some other strange word.

To me....roaches are either nasty insects (cockroaches), or the end of a joint or blunt. I think I'll have to go without using a filter type thing as I barely do good rolling a joint....can't roll blunts and probably never will....I didn't see the point in learning to roll a joint. There's always stuff around to be able to make a pipe or bong.

Learning how to roll was the best thing I've ever done in my short smoking life.. I've been smoking for about 5-6 years and I learned to roll about 2 years ago. . I can't imagine not being able to now. . .

The only convenient way to make a pipe is with tin foil.. and those are just god awful to smoke out of. . . The gatorade bottle bongs are nice though.
