What happens if you harvest way too early?

Lets say only a small portion of the hairs are red, and it looks like it has a few more weeks to go.

Is it just a lot less potent?

Lets say it is an emergency and it has to be gotten rid of, so there really is no other choice.

....true.

I guess I was wondering also if there was any other difference, like harsher, or something.

probably really harsh i would assume ...
I agree it would probably be harsh. I would guess (emphasize guess) the harshness wouldn't come from harvesting early. The harshness would be there cause you didn't have time to flush/rinse before harvest and (probably) wouldn't have time to spend drying and curing properly. Otherwise I think it would just be less potent/flavorful.

The above answers are not exactly the truth, what type of light r u using, I always harvest at 5-7 weeks tops, but, I am growing in a 5x2 grow room with 2 400 watt lamps, a combination of HPS and MH is best, my plants are only about 2 inches from the lights with a multiple fan set-up for heat........Bottom line, your plants will be Sativa like in high, Celebral, I love Head highs so this is ok for me, if u desire a body stone, tuff nuggies!!! If conditions are optimal, 6 weeks is very reachable, Hell I usually grow and flower DP Blueberry in 6 weeks, great head high, wonderful taste, with that unmistakable body stone that accompanies Blueberry, lumens per sq ft should be at least 5000-8000, I use 9000, basically, it all depends on ur enviorment.. .

I burnt the shit outta one of my buds with a side CFL half of the bud was still okay but I clipped it at the calyx so she wouldn't use her strength to repair that damaged flower, shes a sativa and in the 9.5 week of flowering, she still has a lot of white pistils. I would never let bud, good or bad, go to waste!!! I am speed drying in a clear Tupperware in the radiant texas sun, I will be back in an hour to let you know!

If there is anyway you can just leave that poor plant alone, DO SO! Will you catch a buzz? Probably. And it'll be harsh and short lived.
Also, if your nipping off a plant you intend to let go and harvest; stop and think for a moment. Your stressing the plant and diverting its resources
to the places your cutting off.

You can use a convectional oven at around 150-200°F. Some times it helps to chop it up so it dries quicker but it's not going to be the best thing you ever smoked.

Ummm I'm a little new to this growing thing but I've been using for a LONG time. At those temperatures doesn't the THC evaporate? I mean I use my vaporizer at 250°F and it comes close to cooking it

THC Vaporizes (is destroyed) at 350 degrees F. CBDs are decarboxylated at around 220 degrees F (a carbon atom is combined into the CBDs which makes them easier for our body to use). Paper (and most fibrous material) burns at 451 degrees F
Putting your bud in clear tuperware to speed dry is fine. The reason you dont want light when you're curing is to stop photosynthesis... really not a problem with a pinner nug :D
