What form and brand of calcium nitrate can I buy locally?

I have a calcium deficiency and need something right now. I may order Cal-Mag in the near future, but right now I need to use something I can find locally. I know calcium nitrate is what I need, but where can I find it and in what form?

From the Pharmacy, Walmart, Lowes/Home Depot?

Once I get it, how do I prepare it for use in a hydro grow?

Is there any product similar to Cal-Mag that I should be able to find locally?

What about this product: Green Air Products Grow #1 Hydroponics System Fert which supposedly can be found at Home Depot?

I am able to check ph and it's in the 5.8-6.2 range. I do not have a ppm unit. From everything I have looked at, it seems to me it's a calcium deficiency. I know I have root stunting on two of my three plants, but the roots do seem healthy. All three plant grow everyday, but the growth has been VERY noticeably slowed. On one plant, the new top leaves are all fairly healthy looking, but slow growing and they all come in immediately curling/clawing under. All three plants have lower fan leaves with yellowing and rust/ brown colored spotting.

how about for a little while you go from 5.5-6.2? Calcium is absorbed best in Hydro and Soil less Mediums at ph levels of 5.4-5.8.
Magnesium gets locked out of Hydro and Soil less Mediums at ph levels of 2.0-5.7, Magnesium is absorbed best in Hydro and Soil less Mediums at ph levels of 5.8-9.1.

Whats the temps in your op? As long as your using a Quality nutrient you shouldn't be having this issue.... Do you use RO water or Distilled? if not whats your tap like? ppm wise

I'll try dropping the ph. I'm using Dyna Gro Grow nutes and the temp is anywhere from 60-75 depending on the outside. My humidity was poor until recently when I added a humidifier.

Do you or anyone else have answers to the questions about forms of calcium and how to add it to hydro res for best results just in case the changing the ph has no affect?

VitaGrow SuperFastGrow is part b of their three part nutrient line and is mostly calcium nitrate. It's designed for hydro and it's less than ten dollars a pound box online. That and a box of Epsom salts will make over a hundred gallons of what is basically calmag without the iron for under ten dollars.

Lets revive this sucker and re-ask his original question. Anyone know of local sources for Calcium Nitrate? It costs more to ship than the product costs, so would be to our best interests to find local.

How about powdered egg shells. Works in a pinch. Bet you can get those easy. Hmm, whats for breakfast ?
So does milk.
Soak the shells in your feed solution overnight and water. Leave the shells in.
Put some crushed on the soil for longer term effect.

Check with wholesale greenhouse supply, agricultural supply, that kind of place. Solution grade calcium nitrate is the cornerstone of modern hydroponics and shouldn't be costing you more than $75 for a fifty pound bag. Smaller sizes also generally available.
