Welcome! You may want to look into topping. Uncle Ben's method seems to be the way to go. Combining that technique with LST will help increase yield. Consider side lighting to ensure you're providing light to every bud site you can. Reflective material like mylar (emergency camping blanket) or flat white paint on the walls will ensure as much light you're using is being taken in by the plants, also. Hope this helps!

Hang your CFLs vertically and uhhh add more CFL's. Lol the whole downside of CFL's is that they dont produce a lot of lumens. Use across the board wisdom for standard lighting but keeping in mind that you're trying to produce gold with a picture of the sun...good blunt haha ;p

Personally I like fim'ing more than topping, just less stress with similar results, but were all different. Basicly when it comes to cfl's your gonna want to pack as many as you can in there and be able to control temps.

Dude you gotta get one of these....
*Light output= 10,000 lumens
* Energy used= 150 watts
* Incandescent equivalent= 400watts
*Color temp= 2700k
For 40$.

I got mine at my local hydro shop. He's got 2700k's and 6500k's

The pics don't do a whole lot of justice, (my hand is just over 9in. from palm to fingertip)

OH and it screws into a standard US socket!

There's an article on FIMming in the Advanced Cultivation forum, right below Uncle Ben's sticky. Definitely a similar technique. Just play around with as many different styles of growing you can and tweak what works! Good luck!

what kind of reflector is that for the 150 watt bulbs??? Also ..anyone got some easy ways to get better reflection from my cfls .. I use em without anything .. just y splitters in a spider formation right now, sides being horizontal with the plants .. also use 2 68 watters hanging from the sides . how can i get better reflection.. i got about upper 2-300 watts total.. ill post a pic i edited it so you could see the formation ...like i said i have the other two 68 hanging in there now too

the lights???? almost nothing ..you can pick up a 4 pack of 27 watt 5500k from home depot for like 12 bucks, the other ones are a 42 2700K which was like 8 and a 30 w 3000K for 5 bucks ..the y splitters were 2 something a piece and the shop lamp was lke 7 ....cfls are cheap as shit to get man

most people use 6500k for veg and 2700k for flower, or a mix of the two. i was worried about yield with my 1 plant, so i top'd, and put a chickenwire screen above it, and then just tied the tops to the screen once they grew a couple inches above it. created a ridiculous amount of budsites, i had to chop really early and still yielded 32 grams, which i think is pretty decent

Maturity is the real key to yield, that and good stable genetics. Get your CFL's close as you can, train the plant short (CFL's lack penetration into the canopy, apart from that they are excellent), and make sure you let them fully ripen off before harvest, when you think they are ready, give them 2 more weeks! This is the best advice I can give :-) But dont overlook maturity, when you flower you want strong stems because thick stems form and support heavier buds, give them time to veg up for a few weeks.

Hope this helps in some way.
