You'll want the plants to develop strong healthy stalks so they can support flower development. And the more branches that develop the more bud sites. At least 3 weeks or till 8" for anything worth while before flowering.

Dude, look into scrogging in the advanced techniques area of this forum. Its a technique that involves using chicken wire or something else like that to train your plants into growing sideways, so that the bud sites are exposed to more light. That way instead of getting a bunch pf tiny buds on the bottom of your plants, you end up with a bunch of little colas, and a bigger yield for the light. Scrog is made for people with low light power or CFLs

I agree with Beansly. A Scrog grow is definitely the way to go if you want to get huge yields out of small grow areas. One thing to always remember when doing a scrog is to make sure that you veg long enough to promote proper root develpment, as well as creating more bud sites. There are several simple methods of training your plants when doing a scrog, but always remember, gentle and slow, so as not to hurt your girls. Check out www.thescrogbox.com for a simple, effective, affordable grow box that incorporates the scrog method. Happy Scrogging!!!! :)

They are looking good so far, i haven't read every post on the thread except from page 2 on, I wouldn't worry about the size right now because they definately will grow a lot once they go into flowering. Also, like everyone else said 2700k is usual for flowering, and some mix spectrum with a 6500k or so. My setup is 3 2700k and 1 6500k. Good luck man!

I have another suggestion. . . . don't mess with the plants at all. Everytime you pinch any growth off the plant or tie it down you create some kind of stress, just leave them alone and look after their basic needs. Don't mess less stress!
