Operation:

Watering: I don't know how well nutrients do if sitting in water in the bottom waiting to be pulled up, there is nothing to keep them mixed. My previous method was to top water or use the manifold when adding nutrient water. I'd try to water until the entire top container was damp with minimal run off. Then I would come back and when adding water, would add it to the bottom tote to wick up, hoping it'd carry up any nutes that washed down in runoff.

I haven't had luck with the romulan seeds from my personal seed run. As I am unsure if it's my germination practice or just bad seeds, I'm going to first try germinating some freebie seeds. First attempt is on two regular Brazil Amazonia from World of Seeds. I've got my coco sucking up water now so I'll drop them tonight

i think the nuted water will have a ph swing, which, is the main reason why in hempy that you should water everyday...that and to replenish oxygen into medium.

Thanks gloc. If I could start my tubs over I'd go organic. But again, I'm to lazy to dump it all out, clean it, and replace it.

My next cab I plan to use multiple pots and run different side by side comparisons

Two small cups with drain holes. Squeezed excess water out of coco and crumbled it into the cups, being sure not to pack it, leaving it nice and loose. Put in seed without soaking. Covered with a half inch of coco. Placed on top of light fixture containing three 23w cfl bulbs.

Now I wait

I kept letting the paper towels get dry. Should have put them in a ziplock.

The romulan seeds would sink but only a couple put out tap root, and none came up after being put in coco

I went ahead and did 8 cups of coco and put like 5 seeds in each. Couldn't get any to come up before, watch all 40 come up this time. It'll kill me to have to thin them out

93?!?! too hot
remove them from that space, put them somewhere humid and dark and alot cooler.
best germination temp is like 66-79 no higher then 85 in my experience..

I got the fan running and door cracked. Think it was 83 when I looked a minute ago. I'm always fighting heat.

Just put the last two freebies seeds into a cup of water and try it that way.

We'll see how it goes. Hoping for a Christmas miracle tomorrow

Found my password deep in the recesses of my mind!

Why don't you toss an airstone in the res and let it do the mixing for ya?

Hey Glockdoc long time man

My bottom container is filled with perlite. And if doing that I should go back to shallow water culture.

My veg cab won't drop below 83 with the fan ruining. Makes it a bit warm to keep a res clean.

Only one of the roms came up. The amazonia seeds, one is putting down a root but the other one hasn't even cracked open yet :(
