Keep in mind electric is cheap... I think your over emphasizing the cost to run a fan... 12$ a month to run a 200 watt 24/7. That's like the cost of netflix... what's your freedom worth? An if not the cops, the crackhead who want to rob you? I've had so many friends get robbed or arrested 12$ a month is NOTHING.

You do like to talk a lot about things you know nothing about, don't you? And you do it while always insulting people at the same time.

First off, the typical 6 inch inline 400 cfm fan only draws about 35 to 50 watts, not 200.

That said, a 50 watt fan running wide open 24/7 will cost about $3.95 per month on average across most of the lower 48 states.

He also said:

Yes, Phresh 701005. Thanks for your input. I run around 50% to control the negative pressure and keep sound down (it's a big fan for this area). It's also cheaper on electricity but if smell becomes an issue I will crank it up.
So the PRIMARY reason he's running it lower is to control the negative pressure and keep the sound down to a minimum. The power consumption savings was just a cheap bonus and was of no importance to him whatsoever.

Dumbass.

I literally said a 200 watt fan because I'm talking about 8 inch fans that are... 200 watt. Do you have some reading issue or wtf is your problem? Jesus man

You can do whatever you want but I'm advocating to be safe, and pointing out the cost to run these fans is actually very very little.

So you talk about a fan he's not even using and an issue he doens't even have.

Dumbass.

Lawl you haven't really read the thread much have you? Maybe have a cup of coffee before you start shitposting.
Says the guy talking about a fan the person in question doesn't have and the cost of electricity the guy wasn't even worried about.

Every post you make is a shit post. That's why half the forum has you on ignore, as I do now from this point forward.

There's an old saying: "Better to be thought of as a fool than open one's mouth and remove all doubt".

Post less. If at all.

The fan and filter are much larger than they need to be. I'm not over emphasizing the cost of running it .. I'm using that energy in other places.

In comparison to this mystical fan you speak of, mine uses 165 watts less. With that savings I can power 9 18" Sunblaster LEDs. I could light a 2x2 area with 165 watts. Just some examples.. not overemphasizing.. being smart.. this is 2018..

You should consider upgrading your fan if it consumes more than 200 watts of energy ..

These are popular 8" fan specs

Yeah, what the heck

I have a couple of fan speed controllers and they work ok except they make that fan howl noise. I think it is because of how they interrupt power instead of control power.

In my big tent i just run the vortex full speed. It is a heat issue and it is not as efficient capturing odor because the air is changing out too fast.

In my small tent i run a variac and it is the cat's ass all around. A 100 dollar fan speed controller that controls the voltage (and power to the fan). I love it. I learned it here too.

K do whatcha want. My advice is still the same as it started, match the fan cfm to the filter cfm and always use a 8 inch ++
