Dude, I've been growing and "blasting" (I'd definitely NOT say shooting, it just sounds...odd haha) for 5 years. I run a continuous cycle and grow some pretty incredible herb. Not once have I EVER run shatter at 140f . I'm sorry if I'm offending anyone but that's insane, if you want shatter you need to use as little heat as possible. 90-100f period. Don't let anyone tell you differently, I've run literally thousands of grams and usually around 200-300 grams at a time. Obviously don't grind or break up your material and if you're running trim try to keep it as "in tact" as possible, don't crush it up too much. Breaking up your material in any form allows more plant cells, fats and lipids to be released into your final product making it very sappy. Just blast into Pyrex and from the glass to the parchment agitate your goods as little as possible, the more you agitate the less stable it becomes, pour out what you can and scrape the rest out very carefully. It's difficult to scrape your oil and not have it cloud on you but if you're careful and either keep it separate or to one side of your pattie you can manage this consistency variation quite easily. I purge in a 3 gal vac chamber on a griddle with a 3 cfm Thomas performance pump (inexpensive setup) for roughly 6-8 hours on both sides meaning I flip my pattie halfway. When I've achieved shatter that literally shatters and my pattie looks like a big piece of Swiss cheese I know I've got exceptional product. Not all conditions are to be held as standards as not everyone uses the same equipment under the same temperatures internal and ambient, so don't take anyone's posts too seriously. The only way to actually succeed is to experiment with your abilities until you fine tune them. Don't be afraid to fuck up some bud/oil it's how you become educated, not by listening to shmucks like me online haha! Good luck and I hope you reach your desired consistency.
