Totally healthy, can I still obtain a medical card?

So I've been smoking for about 3 years, never really had any issues with police or anything, but I've become really interested in growing recently, I think it would be a pretty fun hobby and I should learn quite a bit from it, not to mention I get to enjoy the fruits of my labor after a few months!

I live in southern California and a few of my friends have medical cards, I was wondering how I would go about getting one if there's really not anything major on my medical records to indicate I would 'need' to use marijuana. What would I tell a doctor to get a reccomendation? I was thinking my best bet would be the ol' insomnia tale, can't sleep, MJ helps out, story, and I was hoping some of my fellow stoners could point me in the right direction! Think that would work or should I try to come up with something better? Or does it not matter because I would need actual documented proof of some ailment I'm suffering from?

Also, what kind of prices am I looking at here? I hear prices ranging from about $90-$250 for a cannibis card, depending on where you go, is that accurate?

Finally, does the card have to be in the county you live in, or can it be from a different county?

Thanks for your help, friends! :bigjoint:

You say your not sick, But you want advise on how to fake some sickness, just so you can grow pot.
You're helping to make legitimately ill MMJ users look bad, and makes it harder to change these damn laws......

I said I have a slight case of insomnia and MJ helps deal with it. I'm not the one who made a plant illegal, I'm simply trying to find a legitimate way around the current system that, let's be honest, none of us agree with, and is only amplifying the suffering of patients who use the substance.

What's wrong with enjoying a substance and trying to do it legally? :?: (I guarantee you I'm not the only person who has ever done this) I don't agree with the law, but just because I don't agree with it doesn't mean I don't have an obligation to try to uphold it, right? I'd rather get the card and smoke/grow pot legally and not have to deal with any police or fines or anything than get it off the street and risk it, wouldn't you?

Can you answer any of the questions I posted?

Do what you gotta do, but don't post questions on how to circumvent laws we have fought so hard to pass. These kinds of post and questions on public message board are giving the legit patients that benefit so much from the use of cannabis a bad name by asking a question that eludes to an assumption that that every MMJ patient is just faking it and really doesn't need it, giving more ammo to the prohibitionists that keep saying 'those people just wanna get HIGH they don't really need it.'

I am sure you really don't mean any harm in your question but really think about it long and hard, if you really believe in ending the prohibition of cannabis, then instead of trying to circumventing the existing law why don't you help change it.

Wake up, it's not going to change. The best you can do is beat the current system, or find a way around it, which is what I'm trying to do. I guess the phrase "don't hate the player, hate the game" also works pretty well in this situation. I want it legalized as much as you do, but what can one man do to change what over 60 years of corrupt politicians have done to make the current system the way it is now? Keeping it illegal means more profits than legalizing it, that's what it comes down to. There's not one other substance on earth that is treated the same way as marijuana by national governments. Think about it, the current system is the reason I'm in this situation in the first place, I'm trying to make it legal to smoke a natural substance so I don't break the law that's in place to keep me from smoking that substance...

Delete the post if you feel it would be ammo for right wing communist corrupt politicians, but anyone with a brain would already agree with me.

DUDE pay no attention to all these bullshit "legit growers" who tell you your doing something wrong. we don't all live in grow states, fuck em. You know as well as i do that half of them gave some bullshit story to a doc to get their card. 1st time answers to a post actually pissed me off but several in this thread did just that. They need to let go of the delusion that all card holders are legit. Probably the vast majority are full of shit but they wanna crucify you for being honest. Fuck em all dog, do what you gotta do and get your damn card. Good luck and when you get it send a copy to "rudedog" with a post script that says; BLOW ME

Okay this is how it goes down, you need to be diagnosed with some kind of illness or disability(by a different doctor), and you need to have a current prescription, and if you don't have either then your wasting your time. But because you said you're healthy you don't have shit, so "do what you gotta do" if you have to, but you are not going to become a MMJ patient. So I agree with the "earlymornindickpumperlover", because you're going to need a whole shitload of luck to become legal, and I would like to see a copy of your medical marijuana rec. if you ever get one. HAHAHA:bigjoint:

I don't care that non patients grow, but to try and become legal when you're perfectly healthy is BULLSHIT! I would gladly give up patient status if it would take away my disability. You should just be happy that you have your health.

The problem is, you're NOT doing it legitimately if you are lying about your health in order to convince a doctor to write you a recommend. It's only legal if you LEGITIMATELY have an illness for which medical cannabis will help and which is listed on your states law as a recommendable condition.

I understand where you're coming from, but you aren't doing any of the legal medical cannabis users a favor by your actions. Posting stuff like this and actually obtaining a card illegally is hurting us legitimate patients.
