I have 3 gdp that are a little over 9 weeks into flowering and they will be chopped tomorrow. I still have 2 mango kush that have another week or 2 to go so i cant dry in the tent so i will be using the room the tent is in. I'am worried its getting too hot during the day in the room, gets up to 80 and always around 50 rh, does anybody dry in a room this hot? Im going to hang the whole plant and trim when dry hoping that will help slow down the process.

If it's hot where your drying probably going dry your stuff out quicker, wicth I heard makes fora harsher smoke. I think your looking for a cool dark space to slowly and evenly dry them out

Unfortunately i dont have anywhere else to dry and live in san francisco so dont have any ac. It gets down to the high 60s lately at night and on a cool day the room will stay low to mid 70s but its been pretty hot here lately.

Should be OK then. You could hang like a partition up to block light if needed as u continue to work in the tent and if its getting dry to quickly mb a stand up ac would help something like this

Well the tent is as hot as the room its in so dont think that would help but good idea. Im going to be moving right after they dry so i really need all my money and cant afford an ac right now. Guess ill just hope for some cooler days since the weather can change here quickly.

Hey man I would try it if it's your only option you have no choice just be care will probably dry a lot quicker so check frequently! Good luck let us know

why spend months and months and then have the end result turn into crap, from quick drying and not properly drying it, find a friend or family member or create the space to do it in, a ac unit is $100 good luck

My shit just dried in 3-4 days tops. They're still going to get plenty of time in the jar and it's super easy to rehydrate dry herb. No one has ever complained about the quality.

Bathrooms can be great. Usually more humid and dry slower. You can also add water to a sink or tub to help.

I dried some Blue Dream outside on some wire mesh in the sun. They also got watered by the sprinkler every day. Came out amazing!

Dry sift still smelled like Blueberries and pine trees.

Cheers,
Mo

Thanks for the bathroom idea, ill put a thermometer in there and see how hot it gets. Im going to be painting the walls in there tomorrow, do you think the fumes would affect the weed drying in there? Good lookin dry sift too

Dry in the dark! NEVER DRY IN THE SUN!! Light degrades the THC. If you could lower you temps, it would be better, but that doesn't mean your ganja will be harsh, you just have to be smarter with the curing process. Instead of waiting 3-4 days for them to be dry to the touch, it may take only one day. Next, is the most important thing you can do. When they are first dry to the touch, get them into air tight container and (start the curing process and slow down the drying process) wait a day or so until they feel wet again. This is the important part, leave the lid off just long enough for them to feel dry again. Then repeat until they stop feeling wet. Pay close attention to when they feel dry to the touch each time after they are in a sealed container. Leaving them out too long and letting them dry too much will make them harsh. The slower the dry, the better the flavor, but you can still cure it slower and get the same result. It just takes a bit more time and patience. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice, i definately wasnt planning on drying in the sun. Ill keep a close eye on them and make sure they dont get too dry, then put into jars for a couple weeks. That brings up another question, does light only degrade thc after its chopped or while its still growing too?

Both!
THC is considered to be the plants protector from UV radiation! In the mourning is when the THC has the highest concentrations. During the day it "degrades" as exposed to the sun and changes to actually protect it's self from the intense light. At night the plant "changes" back to being ready for the sun again and increases or regenerates the THC concentrations for this....

After it's chopped, any loss of the THC quality is permanent.

You can leave them in jars for as long as you like, but you will need to burp them regularly. FIrst time will be 24hours after you put them in. The second time, it may take a couple of days or more. Just wait for them to be wet feeling before you leave the lid off. Then, leave it open until they are dry again. I just want to be clear. If you leave them in jars without burping them, they will mold.
