Man I got a small, decent grow goin for myself, and really have NO clue what I'm doin. But man some of the "first" grows in here are like freakin sci-fi setups and dudes talkin bout "yea, I got $1500 to get started..." where's the "I got 100 seeds from months of mid and a $17 budget folks?! haha seriously though,

has anyone had any luck with anything under $40 for odor control? I got 4 flowering that are starting to smell like a minimum mandatory

I'm sure they are here, but just don't want to say they are on a shoestring budget. I'm not new to growing, just new to sites. Been reading forever, growing about 5 years ( ok so 5 years is new still) outdoor till recent. Let mother nature do most of the work ( free light, free water). Ok, back to your odor issue. You could try buying a to activated charcoal, putting it in some nylons in any tube ( like crystal light container) riddled with holes to vent through. That's of course if you are growing where you needed a vent tube to begin with. Just one low cost way of dealing with it.

All you need is a $10.00 fan from Walmart, a $4.00 5-gallon bucket, an $8.00 can of Soil-Moist, $11.00 quart of Ona Gel, duct tape, and a drill to make some holes.

Nice link. I have been hearing about ona gel, just never looked into it till now( via your link). Maybe I should read more testimonials, or, do enough people swear by it that I should just get it before my indoor plants (only 2) over power the house?

If I bothered to worry about odor control, this is probably what I would do, unless I was growing a good quantity of stinky strains...rep + for helping out the newbtarded, Dried Meat man...

awww shucks ::blush:: kick a rock. I have a legal grow but I have Mormon relatives. I don't want to bruise their delicate sensibilities. I've had up to 4 plants growing in my closet and the bucket keeps the smell nice and linen fresh. I keep the bucket outside the grow area. I've heard talk (don't know if it's true) that the plants can take on the taste of the gel if it's too close to your grow.

tee hee :) yes I can believe that... I got a good spot in mind... what if i mixed that gel with activated carbon? would it be a vortex of odor destruction?

No, it would just make a mess.

Carbon filters only work when you pass the stinky air THROUGH the carbon, because one teaspoon of activated carbon has the surface area of like an acre, or something like that...good at trapping odors that pas over/through the carbon, but the ONA gel is a neutralizer...Basically the carbon would just sit in the bucket, making your mix black and goopy.

I am using a cheap bathroom exhaust fan from home depot it 70cfm and is the quietest I could find 1.5 sones. It runs through 4 inch duct line to a canister with carbon in it from the pet store, the canister is about half full and is vertical the carbon just floats around in there as the air pushes it around. I have 4 girls in flower right now each about 2 feet tall and no smell at all. Total cost was about 50 bucks but could have saved 10 on the canister if I used a pop bottle instead of a pvc pipe

Well I don't grow anymore just have a good friend/dealer, I live in Texas so I do cheap ass outdoor growing and grew pretty good buds. Just used pots, seeds, water, and sunshine. But I only grew like 5 plants at a time so I'm sure I'm a newb at growing too.

1 - Air pump
1 - Air stone
1 - Plug-in timer(optional)
1 - 1 gallon bucket
1 - large bottle lemon Mr. Clean
1 - pr. pantyhose

Pretty self-explanatory... the pantyhose is to put it over the bucket to stop bubbling over.

You can do this in a double set-up with two different fragrances to switch it up! It's like a big glade plug-in!
