...After listening to Obama's "vision", let's pass it and let's "fast track" it. If it's a success, we win.If it fails, he loses the next election and we get another shot of fixing the problem (not the the Reps can do any better...LOL).

Let the man stand on his success of failure. Shed your partisan blinders and think of the nation and your brethren.

I'm really starting to like the way you think...

Thanks guys, and I mean it. I believe I've made myself abundantly clear that I do not cotton to many of Obama's policies. It is what it is though and he his our Commander in Chief. The partisanship absolutely must stop. I am a reasonable man (at least I like to think I am) and if a plan is laid out that seems somewhat reasonable, I'll give it a shot.

I'm still voting for Ron Paul though. **grin**

You are a very reasonable man, if more conservatives (and liberals) were as reasonable as yourself this country would be 10x better off.

450 billion dollars is a lot of money. And what plan? He hasn't even said how hes going to pay for it all. ANY of it

you missed the part where he says the plan will be 'paid' for by asking congress for even steeper spending cuts elsewhere, who knows where, and through re-structuring tax laws so it benefits companies that hinvest money in american workers, not in super lobbyists.

yep, he'll raise taxes on companies that outsource a little too much, and reduce taxes on companies that Made In America.

thats my one question who is paying for this?
and I liked how he said EVERYONE must pay their fair share, i wonder if he knows that the majority of his voting demographic (fancy way of saying b****) pay actually no income tax at all yet take more from the system than they put in.

maybe the companies who have been posting quarter after quarter of record profits while getting special tax treatment.... ???

he said it's time to reform tax laws so that we may lower the corporate tax rate, and to make sure that tax laws treat those who invest in america and hire american workers best, instead of the current system which holds the corporate tax rate at a 'fake' high level and gives the ones with the most connections the most write-offs......

he said it clearly. we either decide that we will spend money on education, infrastructure, and things that will make our country better... it's pretty shocking that the US became such an economic power house because we had the best railroads, the best roadways, the newest airports.... now china is well on track to out build us with newer airports, newer highways, faster trains... that will only lead to one thing... let's not kid ourselves....

Obama is a racist. He goes around talking about white people, like he is better than they are. Not only that his friends and even his priest is a well known racist. We don't need that kind of garbage in the whitehouse

You go ahead and judge Obama by his speeches  The rest of America will judge him on his record. You can go ahead and re define who he is all you want. America already know who he is. Just as radical and ridgid as you are.

450 Billion sounds like a lot of money, and it'll make a dent in the unemployment rate - but it is not large enough to close the output gap entirely. There is some potential though; I read somewhere that with only a $10 Billion initial investment into an infrastructure bank that it could spur $600B in economic activity over the next 10 years... If those numbers are anywhere near accurate thats a fucking insane fiscal multiplier (which gives me plenty reason to doubt it's possible, but whatever...).

His plan is to make Congress come up with a plan. Other than that he has no idea how hes even going to come close to that number. How it appears to me, Obama's plan is to blame congress. He knows most people in congress don't respect him or have faith in him anymore. Its what Truman did. Obama plans on running on the idea of a "do nothing congress". If Obama can't run on his record, the blame MUST shift to somewhere. Right now blaming the tea party is getting a little old, and doesn't seem to be affective.
