This is how to do it. Nice, polite, and effective.

I like this, however, he should have been more cooperative. This is a reason why police are so suspectful of even the totally innocent. Dont act like you have something to hide if you dont. They are conducting a felony investigation. Dont just think about your dislike of the police, but also that there are victims. Im not saying let them in or anything, but he could have been a little more helpful and less defensive. If you act like you are hiding something, they will think you are hiding something

I liked that. Who gives a shit what their reasoning is or what they're looking for- like he said, go get a warrant.

He did screw up in one way though- he should never even have opened his door. If they want or are going to kick your door in, they already have a warrant and you're already screwed. Don't open the door for anyone you don't know, period.

I've even heard of busts happening by cops dressed up as ups and fed ex delivery men. That's one that's tough, but again- never is there going to be more than one fucking delivery guy. If there is, stay on your couch.

Pigs show up on his door, demanding ID, shining a flashlight in his face and ordering him to stop recording them and he should have been more cooperative? Fuck that, I wouldn't have even opened the door for them.

Edit: aggressive action by cops within 10 seconds of opening his door, threats start in under a minute.

In defense of what I said, I have had more encounters with the police than I can count. You know how many times I have ever been arrested? 0. It definitely isnt because there wasnt reason. I always have something on me. ALWAYS.

I dont get arrested because I know who I am dealing with and conduct myself accordingly. Police are people. If you piss them off, of course they will challenge you and give you more problems. They arent robots. They get pissed easily due to what they have to deal with all day. A lot of people get attitudes, argumentative, they lie, etc. Know who you are dealing with and what they are capable of. This applies to everyone, not just police.

Had he not had a camera, you can just imagine the possibilities. Just act respectful and CALMLY and you will have much better dealings with police, I assure you.

As I've gotten older my respect for law enforcement has taken a nose dive.
Over the last several years my contact with the local law has all been negative and all of my run ins were while out doing my job......which is delivering newspapers in a rural area every day in the early morning hours . I drive the same car every day drive the exact same route every day. I have been pulled 15 times in the last 3 years been ticketed once and I believe that I got the ticket because I questioned what he was doing and why he was doing it and he gave me some lame ass excuse why he stopped me we exchanged words and I let the YOUNG ociffer know how displeased I was with what he was doing and he kept looking until he found a broken licence plate light and wrote me a ticket for that and that was 3 years ago this past December that one episode started my issues with the local boy's it has eased up quite a bit but they did make my life quite miserable for a while. I know now they know who I am and I'm sure that I've met all of those guys at least once .......and on a side note my car sports several pro weed bumper stickers which is why I think they initially pulled me the first time... Oh yeah the lame ass excuse he gave me was my car fit the description of a car involved in an earlier crime .
I FOUGHT The LAW and the LAW won... I guess the only good thing that has come out of this is I haven't been shot yet

Totally with you on this one OT. The older I get, the less I trust the police. Don't want to go into why at this point, but I don't respect them now as I once did. I no longer believe they have the citizen's best interests at heart. If they ever did...

I disagree. That guy was polite, cooperative and knowledgable about his rights. He did cooperate. He told them what he saw, knew, and told the cops the man they were looking for was not in his house. They had NO right to threaten to drag him out of three. His own house. Typical intimidation tactics and assumption that citizens don't know their rights. Actually many don't.

I have to say that the police do a job I'd be too frightened to do. Stopping stranger for a traffic ticket, I'm sure can be quite scary. My husband and I worked downtown Detroit in our shop and everyday when I wasn't there I wondered if he was coming home and I'm sure it is the same way for spouses of police officers.

I am not condoning what they tried to do by intimidation. But I can understand that they may die on the job.

that went on for far too long for my liking
i would not of kept the door open as they could of rushed in and taken the phone
never trust the police to obey the law

after a warrant was not produced instantly when requested the door should of been closed
the longer you speak to them the more opportunity they have to take you out of context

peace

All cops I've met are dirty and hoping your a dummy.
I'm bout to get 3 cops fired.
Came in the house, uninvited obviously. With no warrant, and didn't announce their presence till that thing was in my face.badge numbers and identifying info covered with electrical tape.
After they rounded us up. They took the 2 boys theyve been trying to get for a while and let everyone else go. One of em was completely innocent. But apparently matched the description perfectly, cause you know a young skinny nigga with a big ass afro in a bright red shirt looks just like this white guy. Anyway, they fucked with the wrong people. Just cause its a trap house don't mean everyone there is an idiot.
Charges- burglary of habitation, pom in excess of some amount I forgot and intent to manufacture and distribute.. in a school zone
Charges that gonna stick- Nada

I do have to buy all new grow equipment though!

Also on that note. Every time I roll through bastrop I get pulled over. Last time he stops me, I roll down my window. He shoves his head in looking around smelling. I said can I help you find something officer or are we just going fishing today. He just takes his head out, looks at my inspection/registration stickers and says I'm good to go. Ugh I hate them.
Now when I ride dirty, I bring my dog. She's a doberman mix and is pretty vicious sounding. They always let me out thecar to talk to em
