The yellow plants

I've got a lot of good info from Rollitup so I always come back if I have questions. I'm on my 2nd grow the first being very successful but both times in the early stages I have some plants that are a strange yellowish color. They seem to be growing as good as the others that are a nice dark green but I still don't think it's normal unless some strains of weed are just normally this color or possibly have a different nut-need. If that's true, I'd like to know so I can stop wondering if I'm doing something wrong. The entire plant (which is maybe 8-12 inches in height now) is a pale yellowish color. Could this be either too much nutrient or not enough? Why would the plant right next to it be a nice dark color? (see pictures)yellow.jpg

Usually pale plants are hungry for food. When they don't get the nitrogen, they can't convert chlorophyll which in turn makes your leaves less green, more yellow/lime. Hope I helped!

that looks like coco and needs to be wet. looks dryer than hell there. and having 2 plants in the same pot right next to each other, the strionegr root system will take food away friom the weeker one

agreed. If your only watering around the plants and not all the dirt the dry dirt will suck all the water away from the plant. be sure you have good drainage and water at least 1/2 your bucket.

I may aggree with mouthmeetsoap but I'm pretty sure they have enough water. The top of the soil will dry up nearly immediately from the heat of the lamp and air from the fan but there's moisture in the containers for sure. That's why I use the semi-clear plastic so I can see the moisture. I just watered the day before yesterday. I'll probably be watering again within 24 hours and I'll include nuts in this water. Usually try to do nuts every third watering. Thanks for the suggestions.

ok good Idea. you might want to put a temp cover over the clear plastic bottom and only remove it to look for dampness. the roots hate light. just an idea.

id soak those containers at least once a week w/ full strength nutes. that will help to take care of your yellowing problem and help your plants not have to work so hard to pull water from all over your container

weed 002.jpgHere's an update on my yellow plants. These pictures are pretty good proof that nutes are the key to yellowing. The plants are green and growing very well now. There are a couple with the leaves turning up at the edges a bit. Not sure what that means. Any help with that?
