  • The sound wasn't bad. Hearing it out side def. isnt an issue but, he had it hooked 2 his ceiling and when U were in the room above U could hear a vibrating sound through the floor. So we had to sound proof if with some rubber stoppers around the Ihook threads to dampen sound and we also switched out our metal duct straps for elastic bungee cords to also help dampen the sound. After we did all this there was still a slight noise coming through the floor, but its barely noticeable and hearing it out side is def not a problem those fans really dont make noise but they will vibrate whatever you have them hooked to.. To answer you second question I think you should get at least a fan that can pull 160cfm 2 really clear ur box. If you go to www.htgsupply.com their 4"inline duct fans are: $19.95 (80cfm),
    6" inline D.Fan: $24.95 (160cfm) and the
8" inline D.Fan (this is the one I got): $29.95 (300cfm). If it was me id just get the 8" fan since its only $10.00 more & 3x power
Hey I wasnt able to send you a PM so I'll write you here, hope thats okay.

How was sound with your friends inline fan setup? I'm not overly concerned but just wondering.
Also, if I have a 2'x5'x7'ish area.. ~70cf will this provide enough positive pressure up top to pull area in from an intake duct?

    Thanks!
