HIDs run shit. Fluorescents are effecient and nice for a small grows, especially in places with ghetto birds flying by daily. You can come close in a comparison going watt for watt if you got it dialed in but HIDs will reign supreme.

i have read that the quality of fl is better than hid, does something to the cannabinoids

The fluroscent lighting, is most similar to natural sunlight. However it does differ on some points with sunlight. One of the points where it differs with HID light though, is the production of the Infra red spectrum. It's greater in the HIDs.

One of the more interesting aspects of fluro production and consumption. Is the tolerance and addiction factor. I smoke much less, and much less often, with the presence of the fluro bud in my system... Indoor cultivation has been limited to breeding selection under HID lighting. My process, is the reverse, to now select under fluroscent lighting. The main draw back on fluros is yield. The selection process finds indiviuals that perform at higher levels of production, when flowered under fluros... Here's my video on breeding with fluroscent lighting... i have seen impressive things done with cfls and t5's on here but if you take somebody who's a beast with an hps say hygrohybrid pulling 2lbs with a 600watt hps off 1 plant or someone who's the greatest with flo's ( sorry don't have a reference) i wouldn't say there would be much of a contest i mean maybe they have similar frost but the bud structure while great can't compete on a level with 2 educated growers watt for watt

But one of the biggest factors of smoking, (especially with long term smokers). Is the effect on your lungs. The fluro bud is sooo much smoother. I would say it's in the category of being therapeutic. The correct strain flowered under fluroscent lighting. And you don't have to worry about your lungs. Other wise, you can be in for some rough sledding with things like emphysema and COPD. But I truly believe even someone with advanced lung problems like I just described. Can be cured, or at least definetly maintained at a current level... By simply following the methods of fluro cultivation that I have described... This information I feel is probably the most important thing you will learn in cannabis production. It certainly has been that way for me

This is what I'm talking about...trying to prove your point...commercial grows with flos...for real..dude this is why the core nerds are not on here no more...I miss having good debates about growing...my first couple of months on this thread I learned so much..but know its taking a step back...I'm not trying to be an asswhole..because I love all people who have an interest in weed...but the real growers are tired of the dumb shit...we have newbies that want to hangout here and check the thread to learn....and most of the problem is...we got a lot of fakes...I miss the real nerds...
