I just ordered the grasshopper
Did you get the Titanium or the Steel one? I got the Stainless Steel one because there where no test reviews out when I pre-ordered mine. Is your ship date May 15th?

Mark my words it is going to be the best portable on the market beating out the crafty, mighty, solo, pax, pax2, davinci, all of them. With the low price and a life time warranty and no heating coils and a 5 second heat up time, re-changable battery, you can vape while it is charging, it has a super long battery life and I read you can put oil on a bit of cotton and vape it but I don't know about vaping cotton unless you could get some yarn comparable to a which. They are suppose to make a tip for concentrates.

Man you have spent some money on vaporizers, good to have options man. If you go out with friends you can take the mighty and if your going solo or with one friend the Grasshopper.

And if you want to sale one of your Storz and Bickel units they hold their value very well and you should be able to get a good price on e-bay or do what I do and gift them to a friend that is less fortunate and can't afford a vaporizer. My buddy has a kid so I gifted him my MFLB and I always give him 1/4oz, 5 grams of hash, and about 10 caramels after each grow, he suffers from severe migraines from the percussion of IED's in Iraq and doesn't want to get hooked on opiate pain pills. Myself I was shot by a sniper just above the hip and it nicked my spice breaking one of my lower vertebra and then exiting on above my other hip, i can still walk and what not (no more running which I love and miss dearly but I can ride my bike) and i use bud for pain relief, sleep due to insomnia from PTSD and recreationally as well.

Well sorry for going on a rant but I guess that review sold you on the Grasshopper and when it comes time to ship I am going to buy an extra battery and the stainless steel storage tube.

I got the titanium one with the bundle. I don't think it will beat out the mighty or crafty in taste, as I expect this to be a harsh hit as its directly though but that's to be expected.... And with a 5 second heat up time the 189 I paid wasnt so bad. I dono I ship I'll ask trev.

That five second heat up time has me sold. Who knows you might be right, luckily I'll have all three to compare. Plus it's a cool magnetic charger. I really like my gentlemen pen too. I'll be in touch

.

Sure as shit you can use cotton

That's what us RDA users drip our cancer juice on lol

Just use 100% organic cotton cuz alot of cotton has bleach in it

I would personally never smoke off cotton. Even though I'm sure there is nothing wrong with it just personal preference.

Mdjenks, you have to stop selling the grasshopper so hard lol. At least wait till you get it.... I'll take some pics of all three for verification (obviously not many people would buy a mighty, crafty together ) and give a good non biased review of which I like best... Like I said Im expecting the grasshopper to be a pretty volatile hit.... But I think we can all agree that the grasshopper is a much better value!

I currently am using an Aspire BVC (vertical coil) for Nicotine. I don't like the BDC (bottom dual coils), because the wicks get gummed up too quick. The BVC is a step forward in design, IMO. I've also been experimenting with using fabric softener soaks to clean them, getting a 2nd cycle of use.

As for herb vapes, I am not up to date on those. Has anyone properly created an induction heater? Or is it all still IR-based technology (i.e. using resistive wire like FeCrAl, Kanthal)

Been using Japanese cotton for a while now.Definitely wicks better than regular organic.
I even roll my SS mesh wicks in Japanese cotton for my genny tanks.

Good video showing wicking of Japanese cotton, organic, hemp,& rayon.

CANNABINOID TEMPERATURE GUIDE

The range of temperature in which all cannabinoids evaporate lies between 157 and 220 degrees Celsius. As all cannabinoids have different boiling points, vaporizing the same bowl of herb at different temperatures will generate different results. In general, there‘s two main effects which we will call the “buzz high” and the “body high”. As mentioned above, lower temperatures will have more of a heady effect, whilst higher temperatures will have a more body load effect.

Note: Although some of the following cannabinoids require temperatures above 200 degrees Celsius to evaporate, setting a vaporizer to that temperature runs the risk of causing combustion, which should be avoided.

THC - 157 °C.
The most famous cannabinoid. It has both euphoric and analgesic effects, inducing a great sense of relaxation.

CBD - 160 - 180 °C.
The cannabinoid most sought after by medical users for its vast array of medicinal applications. It partly counters the effects of THC, effectively countering feelings of anxiety and paranoia.

Delta-8-THC - 175 – 178 °C.
This cannabinoid is very similar to THC, but it is more stable and less psychoactive. It has great anti-vomiting properties.

CBN - 185 °C.
CBN is often found in quite small amounts, however, its effects can still be felt. It breaks down THC and is highly associated with a sedative effect.

CBC - 220 °C.
This cannabinoid has anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties.

THCV - 220 °C.
THCV has been shown to moderate the psychoactive effects of THC, but more research is required.

Combustion: Dry weed can begin to combust at around 200 °C. The maximum heat weed can take before starting to burn is around 230 °C., depending on how humid it is.

FLAVONOIDS

Along with terpenoids, flavonoids are little known compared to the famed cannabinoids. Flavonoids are a large class of plant pigments that are sometimes referred to as Vitamin P. Terpenoids and Flavonoids are partly responsible for the looks, taste and smell of a particular strain. They are the reason we open the zip lock before we buy, because their smell reveals a lot about the character of the plant.

They are also thought to have secondary health benefits. The following outlines both the effects and the temperatures at which the flavonoids vaporize at.

Beta-sitosterol - 134 °C.
This flavonoid is thought to have anti-inflammatory qualities.

Apigenin - 178 °C.
Apigenin is thought to be estrogenic, anxiolytic and have anti-inflammatory properties.

Cannflavin A - 182 °C.
This flavonoid is a COX inhibitor.

Quercetin - 250 °C.
Quercetin is an antioxidant and anti-viral flavonoid. It boils at , well out of the cannabis vaporization temperatures.

TERPENOIDS

Terpenoids are structurally related to terpenes and are naturally occurring in a wide range of plants. In part, they contribute to what what gives plants their unique aromatic quality. The scent of cinnamon, cloves and menthol are examples of well known terpenoids. In fact, the strongest known naturally occurring psychedelic compound - Salvinorin A - is a terpenoid.

The following descriptions outline both the effects and boiling points of terpenoids.

Beta-caryophyllene - 199 °C.
Thought to be anti-inflammatory and anti-malarial.

Alpha-terpinol - 156 °C.
This terpenoid is an antioxidant, sedative, antibiotic and anti-malarial.

Beta-myrcene - 166- 168 °C.
This is analgesic, an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory.

Delta-3-carene - 168 °C.
This terpenoid has anti-inflammatory properties.

1,8-cineole - 176 °C.
1,8-cineole increase cerebral blood flow, acts as a stimulant, and is anti-viral, anti-inflammatory and an antibiotic.

D-limonene - 177 °C.
Perhaps surpringsingly, D-limonene appears naturally in cannabis. It has anti-mutagenic, antidepressant and immune system potentiating properties.

P-cymene - 177 °C.
P-cymene is an antibiotic and an anticandidal agent.

Linalool - 198 °C.
This is an antidepressant, sedative and immune system potentiator.

Terpinol-4-ol - 209 °C.
This is an antibiotic and an AChE inhibitor.

Borneol - 210 °C.
Borneol is an antibiotic.

Alpha-terpineol - 217 °C.

Man that is a lot of info thanks. I just want to mention this thread is for true vaporizers not e-pens as they do not vape nor do they have heat settings.

Damn the vapor thread is dying. Next month I get my grasshopper, I got an email from trevor saying all May orders are nearly filled and will be shipping soon. I fucking can't wait to get it, I feel like a kid waiting for christmas.

For dry herb vapes, and as far as discretion goes, the Grasshopper surely wins. The Pax 2 looks fairly stealthy too. What worries me about the Grasshopper is the really short vapor path (and lack of cooling unit). Could be hot and harsh.. I'll wait until more reviews hit the waves, but it would be a great little backup device and it's pretty cheap.

I'm really into the Mighty. I've been using it exclusively for about 2 weeks now. With top shelf herb, this portable hits like a beast. A full bowl will give me around 20 lungfuls stepping up through the temperatures before the herb is spent at the highest temp (210 C). It isn't remotely discrete, however. It doesn't hold the herb's flavor for very many hits either, but it extracts THC incredibly well. Really impressive for a portable. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with it, unless vaping isn't your bag.

I bought the PAX 2 a weak ago, gave up on the grasshopper until it is ready, and I love every thing about it!
