The one thing I would add to this are the Drug Cartels, whose profits would be shredded if Marijuana were to be legalized.

Both Dems and GOP are making out like the bandits they are by accepting Lobby money and gifts. Not to mention, they are investing in these same companies. They can then insure they are going to see their stocks rise even in the worst of economies.

Ask yourself this. If Marijuana is not that big of a deal, and it is a huge money pit (The War on Marijuana), and it makes no sense to continue it, WHY ARE THEY STILL DOING IT?
Answer: They are making a killing on the war on Hemp... Destruction to private lives, the constitution, and the Debt of the US GOVT be damned.

Why does the media not pick up on this?
Answer: They are owned (or have major stock holders) by those very same corporations...

Public opinion and laws are turning around in regards to marijuana

There are options to the Dem, and GOP. Libertarians, Constitution, and Green Parties just to name a few. I choose Libertarian, for they are closest to my stand on the issues. :joint:

The key is voting for change, not the same old corrupt Party Line. Voting Democrat or Republican does not help our cause. Voting third party would... What would happen if everyone who felt just like you decided to vote for REAL change and vote third party?
Answer: Legal weed, the return of our brothers and sisters in prison and a return to Liberty. To do nothing, will result in the same opression we currently suffer. If the light bulb burns out, we will remain in the dark until we take action to change it. :bigjoint:

I have voted Libertarian in the last three Presidental elections. I voted for Ron Paul during the Republican primary this year because I had hope for a return to liberty from one of the two major party's... I am a Libertarian.

Did you even click the link? Did you even read what it was about? It was about the reason Marijuana is still illegal under federal law. Did you read the list of lobbiest? Did you see there were both D and R leaning corporations and organizations listed? I would think not... No one spoon fed you that info...
