preciate the congrats.. i got some white kilz paint, flat white silicone as well... then all i have to do spray it for one last coat to thicken it up... kntrl, do your boxes light up like christmas tree ordaments or does the paint sorta suppress the "warm glow" of a grow box?

wow im psyched to find this club lol. Im just starting up my first grow, and this setup is perfect for my sitiation. I got all the supplies, and attached 2- 40W cfls, 4- 13w cfls, and a 15w 18" florescent tube. In the top box, i've hooked up a diy carbon filter. There is another weaker fan just inside the box moving the air in the box around, and right now theres just a hole cut out of the bottom box for intake.

the problem is that i looked today and my temperature was up over 95 degrees. Two modifications im thinking will lower the temp are getting another pc fan to replace the empty hole for intake, and ive got a bigger fan im going to use to replace the weak fan inside the box. Do you think these mods will fix my problem, and is there anything else i could try? (different fan locations, etc).

Also, off topic, since most of you guys are experienced with growing inside these boxes, how many flowering plants do you think i'll be able to grow at a time. I was thinking that i could manage 3, but i saw the first pic with only 2 plants, and it looked kinda tight. The strain is bubblicious, and im going to be topping/ possibly lst.

When i added the intake and exhaust fans to my 'maid, i made sure the exhaust was nearer the top than anything else just to get the warmer air out. With small spaces like this it really helped. I am runnin 8 23watt cfls and it kept the temp to about 78/84. Id like it to be a few degrees cooler but hey im growing in a rubbermaid

will lst slow my plants pre flowers? i'm still waiting and running out of room quick! Also, Hero1c, i have the same lighting and i found that 4 2` passive in takes works awesome with two pc fans mounted at top exhausting. I end up turn fans off to warm them up a bit. With everything running the temp holds 68-72.

the way i am doing mine is vegging till the plants fill up a single rubbermaid... put the top half on with something under my container and as my plants grow lower down whatever i am using to stack my container on... this is how i am gonna do it... it seems logical, but i am sure there are plenty of other ways to flower and grow in a double stack... so yeah, mine wont make two stories till i flower...

Passive intakes work wonders with PC fans exhausting.

i'm gonna try to flower 7... what i am gona do is get my homie to take some clones off of them... i want to visually see someone with experience cloning cloe in person... that way i can ask questions and what not... also i have a somewhat photographic memory... so if i see him i can remember it forever... ya know? but yeah, give him so clones... he is gonna root them, then flower when they have roots... he will lable each one accordingly to the plant they were taken from... i told him he could have 3 clones from each... so i am giving him 21 clones... he gets to keep the bud off the clones for sexxing them for me... if i even get any females... that is sorta the mystery of going from seed... you never have a clue of what you are going toget... most poeple get mother plants and keep them until they want to change up what they are growing... your garunteed fems since they are the exact clone of the mother... i am sorry if you know all this... i just went and smoked a bowl, so i am sorta intelligently rambling...lol... you could flip your lights to 12/12 wait till the show sex and revert back to 24/0 or 18/6 till you get the amount of fems you want, or just go ahead and clone whatever one that shoots out pubes (pistils muh fuccah)... dont take those parenthesis harshly... its how i fuck (joke) with people...anyways man, hoped this helped... those would be the fastest or only ways i guess to sex them... either way it will take anywhere from like 2 to 4 weeks before you know the sex... those times arent in stone... just estimates...

When do you flower in a double stacked rubbermaid
I flower when they reach the top of the lower rubbermaid. They usually sometimes you gotta do some training but thats my general rule.

Sorry ive been neglecting the thread heres currently whats in mine

Hey guy's. New here, but not unfamiliar with the whole grow and smoke scene. I've been a member of a coule other forum sites, but figured I'd join this one, since it seems like some of the threads are drying up with people. Well anyways, I am a fellow Rubbermaid Grower (50Gal. tubs) but still in the process of finishing my box to the best of my ability. I'm sure it will come out pretty good, since I've been doing crazy reading and research. I'm no guru, so I'm here to ask a couple questions concerning the PVC air ducts. Ok, so I obviously need 2, 1 for each end, am I correct? And does each of the elbow ducts get pointed in opposite posistions? Does a specific fan match up with a specific duct, like share the same ends of where they are mounted on the tub/box? (Intake fan with duct pointing down or vice versa? I truly appreciate this thread and i hope you guy's can guide me with just a few issues. One question which will be my last: Why does the dude in this grow thread have 3 elbow ducts? Ha ha, that why I decided to post my questions when i saw that. Thanks again guy's and peace out.

I have 2 3" passive intakes on the sides of lower box. I use a 4" ttype exhaust. Kind of works like a light trap. The same with the elbowed intakes. I use a 3.5 inch computer fan as my exhaust fan. I had the elbows on the inside pointing down to help with lightproofing. But i lost grow space. So since stealth isnt that big of a deal in my situation i moved them to the outside. Now they intake the cooler floor air. Darkrook louvers would probably be the stealthiest intakes.

BUt since this was my first cab I went with the simplest design.

keep it simple muh fuccah...lol.. i live and work by that motto...lol... i am about 2 weeks before having my box completed... def. getting some more bulbs and paint this weekend.. kntrl, did you spray paint or brush paint yours and how many coats was suffecient? basically how many cans of paint will i need and what kind of paint... i have figured out my light set-up and plan on having 308 - 324 watts of 2700k dependant on if i buy either 8 x 15w or 8 x 13w... i will go for the 15 if i can find them, other wise ... i dunno... i'm gonna have 14 sockets when i am done, so... yup.. this will beat the shit outta my micro as far as whats and yeild... now it really just depends on how many females i get... the anticipation to flower is killing me, but i know im not ready to do so yet, so i'm not... but damn if it doesnt keep me up at nite thinking about checking on 7 big bushy females...lol... also kntrl, do you trim under growth when it bushes out into other plants? what is your bush solution? lol... waiting on some answers homie...

i sandpapered them, then used krylon plastic paint. 1 coat black to then 2 coats white. the black coat keeps light in and the sandpapering is very important. the paint doesnt like to stick to the plastic. something to do with oil in the molding process so the tubs dont stick to the mold. how do you plan on ventilating your tub. cause cfls can create some heat and even with only 4 42w i sometimes have heat issues. not to bad though. but i wouldnt add anymore to my settup. i got 3 42w in my veg tub. temps are perfect. i got 4 42w in my flower and temps in the summer can spike pretty high.
