I have to disagree UB. Bush is more progressive than he is a "compassionate" conservative. I'm closer to a compassionate conservative than Bush is. Bush and Obama are closer in political ideology that many of you would like to believe.

As a "compassionate" conservative, I am pro-choice. I am in favor of gay marriage. Bush is neither of these two. I believe the states have the right to choose their "destiny" as protected by the 10th Amendment. Bush didn't believe that and neither does Obama.
