The positive, economic effect of lowering the minimum wage to $0

College was cheaper in the 50s-70s. Today the cost of college is the number one increase, dwarfing even health care costs

Real wages were higher (as prices and the cost of living has increased);

Reality hates you
No, you hate reality.
College was cheaper, but few still could afford it. I didn't say college was more expensive, now did I?
College has become so expensive precisely because of government throwing money at it so every "D" student could waste 2 years in college and drop out befor getting a degree in basket weaving or "gender studies"
!) Your first chart doesn't referance anything, so we have no idea what it's supposed to prove.
2)Your second chart shows MFI (median family income) went up 147%, while the CPI went up only 106% demonstrating your statement false,
#) Your third chart is clearly false. No one but doctors and lawyers made $8 an hour in 1964. 1974 was the peak of the Carter era recession, one substancially worse than our most recent, yet your chart shows that as the most well paid year ever.

If you're only pulling in $400 profit a week, you don't need to be hiring help. You shouldn't be in business most likely.
I didn't even make a dollar the first year I had my place open. Hard to believe ou can bring in 3/4 of a million in sales and not make a dime. I don't know, guess I'm an idiot but I wasn't about to give up the 1/2 million I put into it.

There is a huge difference between saying the suggested $0 min wage is wrong and asking for handouts..
Do you think of paying a wage as a handout?
I cant believe im on the ub side of this ridiculous argument but some of u guys are just dumb.
it's not comfortable for me either.

No, we all didn't do it, actually. Working Americans in the 50s-70s could work one job, 40 hours a week and pay all their bills, earn a college education, buy a house and a car and put their kids through college. Working Americans today can barely pay their rent working more than 1 full time job. Asking what happened and finding solutions to solving the problem is not crying that it's unfair or asking for a handout.

You are apologizing for blatant systemic corruption and blaming working poor Americans for problems outside their control
Life's hard, dude. Get over it.

Yeah, and much worse today than it was for working Americans throughout the golden age of capitalism

So why you arguing in favor of a system that enables corruption in favor of corporate interests against average hard working Americans?

People like you are the reason this has been allowed to go on for so long

So what's more likely, that a small group of wealthy individuals/corporations bribed politicians to change the rules of the market in their favor, or everybody below the poverty line decided to become lazy at exactly the same time in 1970?
Poverty didn't exist before 1970? You just posted a chart showing real wages were highest in 1974. Your claims contradict each other.

I'm not arguing in favor of it. I agree it's fucked up. My solution is to suck it up, deal with it or move. I'm not running for government office so I don't really give a shit. Just leave me out of it. I don't ask the government for anything, nor do I expect anything.

I'm the reason it's been allowed to go on for so long? Maybe my apathy towards the regime is what bothers you, I don't know. Lol. Ok. I'll happily take your blame but I still don't care. I'll continue to bust my ass and take care of those around me and to
not blame others for my misfortunes but instead blame myself, and you continue to cry about what an unjust world this is and how unfair things are. I'm cool with that.

So you agree with Elizabeth Warren that Obama caters to big banks and wall street and that
the TPP trade deal he is pushing so hard for is a slap in the face to working Americans....Interesting.

"Religion is one of the forms of spiritual oppression which everywhere weighs down heavily upon the masses of the people, over burdened by their perpetual work for others, by want and isolation. Impotence of the exploited classes in their struggle against the exploiters just as inevitably gives rise to the belief in a better life after death as impotence of the savage in his battle with nature gives rise to belief in gods, devils, miracles, and the like. Those who toil and live in want all their lives are taught by religion to be submissive and patient while here on earth, and to take comfort in the hope of a heavenly reward. But those who live by the labour of others are taught by religion to practise charity while on earth, thus offering them a very cheap way of justifying their entire existence as exploiters and selling them at a moderate price tickets to well-being in heaven. Religion is opium for the people. Religion is a sort of spiritual booze, in which the slaves of capital drown their human image, their demand for a life more or less worthy of man."
