Seattle more than doubled minimum wage to $15/hr. which failed and now liberal LA.

After the city of Seattle, Washington raised its minimum wage to $15, Forbes reported: “Restaurants are closing at higher than normal rates.”

"You are left with two choices. You can enjoy tapping your foot in line at your favorite burger joint as you wait for that cheeseburger, soda and fries that used to take three minutes and now takes 15 due to staff reductions. You can accept mediocrity as the new reality of American retail service. Or, you can speak up in defense of a $0 minimum wage and an America where bureaucrats do not force entrepreneurs to over-pay burger flippers. It’s a juicy choice to ponder as you grill out on Memorial Day."

If commerce were not regulated (cronyistic protectionsim via government edict) that same burger flipper could set up a grill on his front yard and open his own business. If he made a good product, or a bad product, the free market would sort out the income part.

If somebody shit on his lawn, he could kick their ass out in a hurry too.

I've often wondered how businesses would cope with slimmer profit margins due to higher min wages.

There's no way I'm paying $10 for a "slow" fast food chicken sandwich and waffle fries. I'll take my own lunch to work every day before I'll do that.

Don't some kids get in trouble at government schools for the contents of their brought from home lunches ?

What is to prevent them from making people purchase food from them and only them? Prevent people from growing their own food?

texas fail again.

1. when was the last time you really had to wait for food?
2. cash businesses close and re-open with is an EIN/SUI clearing move all the time.
3. rules and regs are in place because of abusive employer practices.

employers are the issue, if you don't believe me, see #2 again..they're tricky little devils:fire:

thread over. next?

So if the cost to an employer rises, do they normally swallow the increase or raise their prices?

Thread not over. Your illusion has been suspended.

don't worry about that..you have the 'rightie double-standard'.

bottom line will not be 'slimmer' due to increase in minimum wage.

but if you want to do the real math..i'm game..Excel Spreadsheet ready to go!

c'mon let's pretend..average small business 15 EE's?..how much do they make?

let's put our money where our mouth is..shall we?

EEs at my company start at about $70,000 straight out of college. After that, it depends upon whether you go into project management or stay in engineering.

The average EE in an actual engineering job at my company makes about $70,000-150,000. Depending upon experience.

So now I'll defer to your spreadsheet, and let's see what you come up with.

Run some numbers for low-to-middle-class incomes as well.

Free market wages for the poor can not work in an illegal alien amnesty zone like California.

Say what? Kids don't bring their taxpayer funded school lunches home, they never make it past the garbage can. Thanks to the gov. nanny millions of tons of food are thrown away daily by bratty kids who won't eat their healthy serving of baked chicken and broccoli. They want pizza and frito chili pie.

Gov. needs to get out of our lives. Mandating a minimum wage is nothing more than tyranny and a perfect example of how public employees screw with private business. You can't blame a corporation for using a good solution such as out sourcing labor to Mexico, Philipines, and China. It only makes good business sense....to those of us who understand business. ;)

when you outsource to another country, you take away jobs here (obviously)..you are one of the people that we must protect EE's from..look up intrustrial revolution age around the 1870's-1930's and you'll see just who the tyrant is..

That's right. It's about stupidity.
i said i'd run a spreadsheet for hourly just to prove that your bottom line will increase by increasing the minimum wage.

no one is willing to take this on because they know i'm correct. numbers don't lie. it's the universal language that everyone can understand regardless of personal language.

this is why it's everything STEM.

Other than posting RIU shit, what is your business? You do own a business, right?

No you don't.

Outsourcing saves YOU money by producing Nike's and your Smartphone cheaper. The savings are passed onto you or the shareholders.

Spreadsheets are about as useless as the computer models "scientists" use to show that global warming is caused by humans. Where's your balance sheet, proof of losses or gains?

why do you think the marginally wealthy aka 'the poor' spend almost every dollar they earn and usually right back to their employers pockets?

the system is set this way via means of production..it's the total wal-mart dcotrine see art pope industries in north carolina he does the same thing on a smaller scale.

aka slave.
