The Official Canna Coco & Nutrients Thread

Hey everyone! I was wondering if any of you could tell me what is wrong with my plant. This is my 4th time growing with Canna coco and Nutrients and this has never happened before. The only thing that is different with this grow is that I started using Boost. I this it looks like a P or K deficiency but wanted to get a second opinion before I up the nutes even more. Here is some info on the plant.
Strain: Barneys Farm Auto Pineapple Express
Age: 6 weeks
medium: 100% Canna Coco
Last feeding: 13ml/gal A+B, 2ml Rhizo, 9.5ml Cannazym, 7.6ml Boost, 5ml Calmag+

Any help would be greatly
appreciated!
Thanks

There are people more qualified than me, but those are some fat leaves. I grew bag seed sativas until i realized that its counterproductive....what i learned was just how much phenos vary in nutrient uptake. Did any enviro, entals change. Did the leaves make contact with your media. I too am growing with canna a and b. i just ran out of boost but i have plenty of a and b.
My ? To you is am i going to see a major differance by just using a and b. I have flouralicious, maxibloom, a bunch of older GH stuff. I
But as far as your ? Goes it seems like alot of nutes for a young plant. My meter broke and i got a new one and it turns out i was giving my plants .8ec orvabout 700ppm but they are 3 onths old. So i am slowly going up in ec. I

I need your opinion.

FROM CANNA FAQ:
Code:
DO NOT PUT PLAIN WATER ON THE COCO MEDIUM.
We stress this because the balance in the medium will go crazy
and things will begin to show issues and take about 8 days or more to re-stabilize.
I'm growing from seeds and made this mistake - I didn't use A+B nutes from the beginning.
This means I watered seedlings only with plain water and 100% organic GreenFuse ROOT Stimulator first 8 days.

So, seedlings are 8 days under light (600W HPS) and they look healthy but I realized they stopped growing. They are too small for their age.

From now I will be always watering with a+b nutrients. I'm just afraid it will take too long re-stabilize balance in medium.

I'm just wondering do you think that slow grow is caused by missing a+b nutrients?

From what I can see in the pictures they look fine. If they're not dead then there's hope. I'd take them out from underneath that HPS light and under some Blue dominant lighting for now.

That is a monster auto and something I would realy love to do is grow a tree but I'm so "space limited" at the moment that it's not gonna happen anytime soon :( If I did I would use 4 x 250w hps for better light distribution rather than 1 single 1000w as I think that would be key in getting monster yields :)

I did a similar thing and decided to drop my EC to see what effect it would have on runoff and plant health and found the same as you, runoff was still up there but it required less flushing and the plant looked incredibly healthy and still produced 290g of dried buds.

As for the micro herd I use myco madness as it is slightly cheaper here in the UK and easier to get hold of from local hydro shops although I only add it every 2 weeks, I like the idea of smaller amounts added with the daily feed as that would seem logical to keep the herd from being washed away between applications :)

Keep me posted on the results, I'm not currently growing at the moment so I have to make do with watching everyone else lol
I hate to be so quick about adding to my results. But I added Diamond Nectar three days ago and I'm like in disbelief at what I'm seeing. I'm already seeing a slight difference. They are looking happy is the best way I can put it. Humate Acids are a staple in my feeding regiment from now on.

Yes I feed seedlings .4 ec as soon as they crack .
Iv done what you did before for fear of burning seedlings and they stoped growing and went light yellow So I always feed straight away now and have had many healthy fast growing seedlings

Glad you got yourself a PH meter, make sure its calibrated and then feed the plants with the proper PH food and check the runoff PH to see what's happened to your coco while you were feeding without checking it, I'm pretty sure you'll find you are locked out somewhere.

Read @Screaming trees post above yours, he uses 7.5ml/gal all the way through and gets great results, I use at 10ml/gal and get great results. I completely ignore what a manufacturer says is the correct amount of nutes to use and only go on what the plant is telling me, if she is hungry she will let you know and if you overfeed her she will let you will know, learning to read your plants is part of being a good grower.
It will depend on the plant, some are greedy and will take whatever you throw at them and others are light feeders and a difference of only 50ppm can burn tips.
Question @reddiamond.
So I'm looking at your suggested silica and your brand seems to be a little stronger than the Bontanicare Silica Blast. So I'm curious about your silica feedings from baby to adult. do you keep the same ML's all the way through or are you raising it the older they get? I've noticed that with mine if I add the same amount at juvenile stages as I do adult stages that the tips of my leaves curl all the way down the sides. But if I cut it in half to a little over then the leaves don't curl. I thought that was kind of strange. Have you ever noticed this too?

Wassup with the do not add plain water thng.... Is that at the beginning ? Don't wanna burn with over feeding so it's like ahhhh,,.. They have the start so Guess gonna go with that, First time w canna, used h and g for years, then veganic, wanted to try this line so went for it,l,lll, hope it's what it says. I hear the results are comparable to an and h and g

Dosen't matter what you did, the first 14 days of the plant's life, it feeds on the round leave. I don't think it can absorb nutrients yet. Are you keeping them in a warm humid area? That would help speed things up...and no need for a 600w yet!

No no 600 yet..... T5s will do the trick until about 4 nodes or so, and foilar is a good applicatij to get food to the plants, they need A LITTLE! Stress a little.

And with canna they have the start nutrient so maybe use that light....and some fungi, great white, extreme or both, get the mychro,......... Fungi in touch with the roots, for best use both, on a budget go extreme. Awesome alone but together is best. Don't use the orca liquid, it's a fad.... Go with living bacteria and RootX from house and garden. Phenomenal root stim. Wait a little tho. Let the "round" leaves do the feeding, the clotyen

I disagree the first 14 are the most important. Use a little container so the roots have to work but not too hard and be careful NOT TO OVERFEED! A t5 some fungus at root contact and see what the plant does, there is no textbook. Every plant is different. When you see yellow, that means nitrogen. Aka use canna start,,,, hope this helps and always come back with questions! We all learn from each othereach other

curling down, too much food too fast, prolly really dark green, that's too much nitrogen. Be easy on her. Let her grow. She wants to. Sometimes you want to feed right away, go with foilar spray, magic green, or whatverl I know this is a Canna thing but the humboldt golden scret is amazingly. Ditch the boost and go with that. That root x magi green or a cal/mag foilar is the best way to start, keep it humid and healthy. It's like watching a pot boil water, The more you look the longer it takes, same principle. Even with food. Curling down, we've all been therek back off the nitrogen and we water, dechorinated at least, canna doesn't let YA use Distilled so be artful. Just tap water sitting out for 24 hours per gallon and the chlorine from the tap is gone, try boiling then that or Brita than that. Save $ that way and it's the way to do it. What are yu working with now in terms of the plant and size? How many nodes, and India or sat Dom?

Mix a. Them let settle. Mix b. Then let settle. Check pH. Add additives, check pH and continue. As it says in another forum on here it takes a shit ton of patiene time and knowledge so read up. Teaming with nutrients is an amazing book as is the soul of soil. Read the botany of the plant. Read Mel, read George, read it all ad one to a inclusion based uon what you have.

I like the "each othereach other" part :)
