The Main-Lining Thread

I tried to get a few pics this morning but it was difficult. I did a lot of pinching and bending and carefull crushing on every main during veg. Even though most of them didn't developed that big nasty knuckle they did bounce back and grew more than then others on the same plant. All throughout veg when I felt they were ready I would supercrop a few branches here and there wait a few days and hit some more branches. Light supercropping I suppose.

I've been lurking on here a few good months now and I'm currently 46 days into my first all organic/mainline gig and I love it more than a pig loves mud. My first ever post here comes with a quick question(not sure its been covered yet) all girls are now topped for 4 and I've noticed that my Exodus Cheese now has asymmetrical growth, while all other plants are still symmetrically growing towards their final topping; do I just treat here like a clone and let the non-dominant node catch up when I top for 8?

Exactly. Keep them all even so that the tip hormone is the same in each. One will keep trying to dominate and you just need to bend it down below the others. Keep doing this until they finish stretching and flower established.

how many plants do you think I can fit within a 80x80cm tent (2.6x2.6)? I'm looking at doing 8 colas per plant. Do you think I can fit 4 plants or only 2?

I'm growing in a 2ftx4ftx7ft tent and 4 takes up way way way too much room for me. Only 2 girls mainlined for 8 the left and right plants. I threw the other 2 girls in 30 days after and ended up being too crammed even though they were mained for 4 and 2.

Hey what's up guys. Just put my babies under 12/12. I spent a lot of time vegging these plants because I started the main-lining process to early. Consequently, I've put some of my smaller plants in with my larger plants because at this point I decidef to take clones and induce flowering to save time. If there is a few select phenos in my line-up perhaps ill take some time in the future to see what I can really do when I approach the process a little more informed next time.

Overall I'm pretty satisfied with my plants, and I think ill definitely explore main-lining more in the future.

Here's some pics. Enjoy :)

Plants look good -- time in vegation stage ?
Just thought I'd contribute to this thread with the start of my first main-lining endeavor. Thank you for the clear tutorial, and here's to hoping for plentiful bounties!

Let the bondage begin.

Watch out for metal touching the plant - the metal can kill/injure your plant - found out the hard way - they don't like the oxidation of - use plastic strong wire (no metal) offered by all grow shops or hardware stores. Your plants look good plus good job of training them - now the fun starts !!!!

The plants are approximately 9-10 weeks old. Quite a long time in veg I think.

I removed the metal binders, and truly the stems were blackening where the metal was pushing... Thank you for the heads up. I hope I removed it soon enough....
