Yes, it is I who walks around in one shoe.

Remember your comments about presidents being responsible for every action under their term? But when pressed about Bush's responsibility for 9/11, you completely recanted and called the other guy illogical and hypocritical. Remember that?
Are you trying to make the connection of Obama failing in Iraq to be Bush's fault if it happens?

Everything was Bush's fault for 8 years. Now it still is. How conveniently telling of the inanity of that kind of thinking. Obama has been left no ticking time bombs of foreign policy. Bush left Obama in great shape in Iraq, and certainly dealt the Taliban serious blows in Afghanistan. Obama has been elected during a two front war. If he blows it, it will be no surprise. He hasn't a clue how to be Commander in Chief. The first trip overseas for Bush when he was elected was to go see the troops (it's a war after all). Obama went to Canada for his first trip during this 2 front war. That says a lot about his priorities and attitude.

take a look at the data, isnt it amazing we were able to free 2 counties that 50,000,000 people with less of the same causalties as we have had in previous years during peace time
...and the 30,000 wounded? civilian casualties?
and for what? this was about fighting al qaida, which was all bullshit because they didn't exist in iraq (until now). so do we have to 'free' every 3rd world banana republic and throw all our resources at them? or do we only care about 'freeing' people if they're living on top of our oil.

Good points. War ain't good.

Our intervention overseas is part of our undoing, the growth of government and the nanny state will be the other part.

The idea was to draw Al Queda to Iraq on purpose.....on purpose. This worked by the way....smart.
the idea was to invade a soverign nation and infest them with extremists? is this the new line of whitewash the GOP has churned up?
"we intentionally broke federal and international law and lied to invade another sovereign nation to play 'god of the middle east"? and you support this? really?

Yeah smart Idea have the U.S military fight A l qeada in a urban enviroiment lol. MOUT operations always have more casualtys and require more troops to do the job. This is common knowledge in the military but I wouldn't expect a chickenhawk like yourself know anything about war

It was better than having a full two front war going at the same time. Afghanistan was not the primary target for good reason. Think it through a bit.

Regardless of the urban fighting, the military knew it could come out on top....and they did....with the most minimum of casualties possible for an operation of that size and length. Truly one of the military's greatest achievements.

we already had a full 2-front war (3 if you count raids from pakistan to afghanistan.)
what would have been the second front if we had not invaded iraq? what "good reason" did we have
for diverting most of our military to iraq when bin laden was clearly hiding in afghanistan?
"think it through a bit"? thats your supporting argument? thats almost as weak as "just trust me".

Because the military saw what happened to Russia over there and they did not want to fight Al Queda there alone without giving them a few haircuts in Iraq. Al Queda was humiliated in Iraq and lost a lot of political capital in the Middle East as a result.

Obama is starting to find out how difficult Afghanistan is. If he went in there first..... it would have been a nightmare. It may yet become one if Obama is not careful. the military has already asked for an additional 40k troops.... we'll see.

When did the military say this? Do have a source for your information

As someone who fought these guys in Al Anbar, I would like for the military to take full credit for Al qaedas defeat there but in reality Al qaeda's undoing was due to the loss of support from the local sunni population. Al qaeda began to assassianate local sheiks, killing civilians ect. We were getting shot at every day in Al Anbar, after the local tribes disowned AQI and actually began fighting them, attacks dropped drastically and it was a 180 degree turn.

We are actually fighting a much different war the russia fought, Russia had to fight all of afghanistan, they fought in the pastun areas, Uzbec, tajik areas ie Northern Alliance areas. The U.S is basically only fighting in 2 southern provinces Kandahar and Helmand. The rest of the country is relativly peaceful. We are in much different circumstances than russia

this was officially just an extra benifit of the attack on iraq

i mean bush is so honest he couldnt even keep his lips shut about it

remember he said:

"There are some who, uh, feel like that, you know, the conditions are such that they can attack us there.

My answer is: bring 'em on.

but this wasnt the trigger on why we invaded iraq but surely a great plus for what an attack could do for us

the liberls love to forget that al zarqawi the leader of al queda in iraq who was running around pesonally cutting peoples heads off on national tv

ya that guy, came to iraq under saddam wounded from afghanistan and got top notch treatment at a state hospitol in Iraq who only caters to important government bathists

he then was allowed by saddam to opperate in the north of Iraq with his terrorist group under the cover name of "ansar al islam"

this was a front for al queda in iraq

after we snapped up all saddams goons ansar al islam came outa the closet as al queda in iraq and killed most of the iraqi's who died that some liberals like to blame your own government for. but worse than that, they put that over the heads of our brave soildiers

why do you think we took so long to enter falluja??

we let the city fill to the brims with these cowards and uneducated religiously brain washed bastards and let hell fire rain down upon them

each kill was a life saved times who knows how many of probably women and children and inocents

and people degrade our troops' great triumph with rhetoric purly partisan

that coupled with the fact that saddam was defying sanctions for over ten years and playing like he had wmds to scare iran, and at the same time refusing the weapons inspectors,

we had no choice after the vicious attack on our land. in 2001 to say for our benifit and the benifit of all peace loving people in Iraq we have to act

then just to be extra nice we offered saddam to leave the country with his sons and we wouldnt attack. he refused

That was quite informative! Thank you. I love perspectives from those who fought over there.
