lime, regarding your sons costume of choice. Depends on his age. If he's REALLY young, he's just playing dress ups. If he's under 12 he's recognising his limitations, smart. If he's 12 or older I'd be looking for other signs. haha

When my boy was about 9, we had the homosexual discussion because one of his classmates was aware & comfortable with his attraction to other boys. At the conclusion of the conversation, I said "It's ok if your gay mate, I love you for who you are." Gee he got furious with me, it was so hard to keep a straight face.

You can always tell if a boy is straight when they're around that age where they've become confident walkers, around 3. They do that "I'm a man!' strut with their shoulders back, elbows out & head up. I always laugh when I see it.
I was at a B.B.Q. & started laughing & had to explain my theory. The boys dad said "So I'm ok then?" Me "Well if he is gay, he's definitely the pitcher." haha

that's funny.
well he's 13 lol
not that it would bother me if he was, as i'm not homophobic.
i have a few friends that are gay and i still love them...i just wouldn't date them, as i like women. :D
i've always told my kids (13,17 he is dating a female atm)...i will love you guys no matter who they are with, long as they are happy im happy.
...after all it's their choice of preference, not mine to make for them.

We've all eaten that shit at some point, yeah? Spam. It was only ever eaten on bush-walking, kayaking, camping etc. trips. [Don't need to bring food on a hunting trip. If you shoot it, you eat it :)] Funny thing is, we were always so hungry it'd actually taste good but if it was the last thing in your cupboard at home, it'd smell & taste like dog food.

Oh absolutely. We're lucky that society has matured & accepted homosexuality for what it is, just a part of humanity.
I grew up in a 'House of the Lord' & was taught that 'gay' was an illness of the mind caused by the Devil. It was then illegal to commit a homosexual act. Homosexuality was a psychiatric condition according to medicine. The local cops treated 'poofta bashing' as a community service. To be gay was to be 'defective' in the general eyes of the community. Imagine being born gay in that environment? I've known many guys over the years who've suffered self-loathing & contempt for something beyond their control.
Suppressing sexuality is unhealthy for both the individual & society. Hiding something so primal & intimate to ones very essence don't make for a healthy individual.

We're lucky we as a society have finally matured to accept what is just a part of the human condition. I'm glad my son can feel free to be whoever & whatever he chooses to be.
But I'm still just another insecure parent I guess, often worrying if you've done the right thing. Hope I did good because he's his own 'man' now. He's 18, 6'3", built like an outside brick shit-house, blond blue eyed, no idea how good looking he is & more importantly, he's intelligent. If he can make it alive to 23 & in one piece, then he'll be just fine :)

Don't we all mate. Don't know how long he'd last now though, we're going all PC here at Riu it seems.

Maybe someone has vac's e-mail address? Maybe that someone could PM you for yours & pass it on to vac?

I have not been posting for a great amount of time, but I always felt that Vacpurge offered helpful and stimulating conversation. He struck me as a person that was slightly reactionary...but in a way that you knew where you stood--I admire that...
