my fear as states start legalizing is; the politicians are going to have their buddies in line and ready to start growing on large scale the minute the bill is passed... and if its medical related, the restrictions are going to be in place to help out said buddies to start growing. So while these guys are starting way up top, the little guys are at ground zero... but then again, they are putting caps on how much you can grow, right??? just wonder if the gov will grant special treatment to larger corps who want to produce on a much larger scale.

now one thing the pot consumer industry does have going for it, is the fact that most of us already reject big corporation, and appreciate a good local product, whether it be local vegetables or local restaurants.

I dont know how to make my own frosted flakes,, but we do know how to grow our own plants, makes me almost not care what they do,, we grow our own, but corportations will have enough people who dont know how to grow or dont want too,

Nobody is going to buy that shit.. Maybe some lightweight straight edge that just started smoking because it's legal.. They will stick their nose in and make some money because of who they are... But really how many people want to buy weed from a company that kills their consumers, that's not out image.. I'm hoping it mostly fails and stoners stay true to wanting buds not cigarettes

The cigarette industry ruined tobacco. Correct me if im wrong but i dont think the native americans spent all day rolling up tobaco and eating cigarettes one after the other. The tobacco indutry created that i think. I hope they dont projhect their tobacco cunsumption model onto cannabis itd be pretty sad.
Its up to us stoners to propagate our consumption culture and kick it to those pieces of shit.

lol at you dirty hippies, what size foil hats do you wear?

There will always be shitty weed and there will always be amazing weed.
There will always be multiple jars of amazing weed in my file cabinet.

Personally, I can't wait for GMO weed and designer plant tissue. That will be sick.

GMO weed will be great! I was just reading the 2011 paper by the guys that produced the first draft genome and transcriptome for Purple Kush. They then compared it with the genome of a non-cannabinoid producing hemp strain which revealed some of the genetic and biochem pathways involved in the biosynthesis cannabinoids.

They've come a long way since 2011 - see Cannabis Genomic Research Initiative
