On that note, I'm really considering doing a very simple approach for all my future grows; Inspired by @Greengenes707 method using JR Peter's Jack's Hydroponic, I think I'm going to go with Blumats dripping into straight coco, using Jack's Hydro FeEd then replacing some of that with Jack's Bloom Booster during flower. I'm pretty sold on the simplicity and utility of this approach. I wonder if anyone else has used Hydro FeEd for Cannabis? Not to derail the thread or anything, but I can't stop thinking about it. I'll have to wait a couple-three months before I can try it, though.
Look at my germination post - My nutrient is a "hydro" commercial greenhouse feed similar to the peters.

GG's approach is nothing new, How do you think they grow greenhouse hydroponic tomato's?

I don't see this too much in the spirit of mc130p, he kept is simple with straight liquid mg and rocked it!!
This comp is very telling, looking like the more "experienced" people are trying to appear with this and that and penguin shit cum squirt and whatever the harder they are going to fall.
Keep up the over-complication while those of us with a straight forward approach run away with the wins!
"Lovin' you isn't the right thing to do"

Week 3 update

Topping them really slowed down growth this week, i won't be topping again. Probably shouldn't have done it at all. No flowers showing yet. They are getting a bit discolored probably from the ph swinging but they still look healthy.

Overall, things are going good. I decided to plant 5 more cups outside of the comp (i used 18 oz for these).

Come On People If Your Dropping Out Post It Don't Make Socalrob Look Like A Dick With The Ban Hammer. Hell Even I Had To Announce That I Was Dropping Out Of The 1st Comp. Hell I Always Wasn't As Good As I AM Today I'm Just Saying Don't Be A Dick :hump:
Burning your bitch to death in that comp made that choice pretty easy huh poodle?..........lol

Guess I better get off my ass.

Big shout out to our host with the most , thanks again SoCalRob! I would also like to thank our sponsors but I'm not sure who they are but something tells me they're out there so I'll thank them anywayz! And for this comp I'm dedicating my grow to @mc130p, (Miracle Grow in da house champ), and to my ace @Chronikool who I hope is chillin' butt-ass-naked with the latest Mrs. all the whilst munching on some sweet honey-glazed barbecued penguin scrotum. Yum! And of course Best Of Luck to all my fellow competitors! Uhmm except that fuckin' guy. And that one too. ;)

So we got two ladies going:
#1 is a a mystery seed but I'm leaning toward a F2 Black Widow. Started in recycled potting mix on Wed, that little lady popped on Friday and hasn't slowed down since. Probably be my entrant. She'll be fed the full line of Blue Mountain Organics and maybe a touch of Plant Tone.

#2 is another F2 mystery seed. It's either a Goji OG or a Cali Co OSDxSOG that were lying around. It was started last Sunday but took forever to get going and was moved from paper to it's own Miracle Grow Perlite Hempy cup on Friday. The perlite was soaked in water and aerated for 4 days and was fortified with 100mg gentle iron, 2000mg red algae, 50mg food grade bone-meal, 2 ounces of Super Plant Tonic, 1 ounce of Grow It Green and 1 small pinch of epsom and and a smaller pinch of soil acidifier. The cup is modified to retain about 5 ounces of liquid and I used grouped pin-holes instead of putting some big hole in it. Hopefully it will retain enough liquid for the plant to thrive but I don't have a lot of hope since I've never grown anything this way. She's off to a slow start but after growing some Afghan Kush recently I never sneeze at a shrimp in veg :). If she even needs food this round it will probably be Plant Tone only.

Lights will be 6 x Gen 1 Vero18 3000Ks, 20 x Illumitex F3s and 2 x Luminus Devices CXM Gen1 Xnova COBs @ 4000K. Sadly no 730nm because Rapid doesn't know the difference between 660nm and 730nm. Grrrr. And thanks for the bent stars assholes! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. :finger:

Cups are 16 oz Solo cups. Bought a bag of $1 cups with that in- store "Essential" brand on the label and they turned out to be Solo cups. There's a story there about economics and how weasley America is but I can't be bothered with that shit atm.

Did i miss anything. Oh yeah PSU I know about that gaining on you stuff. Learned that when I was a frosh in high school. I was running away from security and I turned my head to see what was behind me and a senior who I was running with slapped me in said head and said "don't fuckin' worry what's behind you, worry about what's ahead of you"! Tru dat.

Don't look back. Something might be gaining on you.

Best of Luck Everyone and Please Be Safe!

I want a party cup size reference pic from you too froggy............................kids look cute, have fun with hand watering small ass hempy cup:wink:

I'm not saying it is new, but it is simple, and I like the use of Blumats in coco, specifically, especially after using them in soil which is pretty great if you get the distribution drippers. Also I've not seen anyone use Jack's Hydro FeEd which is different than the 3-2-1 formula GG uses, it is even more all-in-one-er! (?) And the bloom boost makes sense, guessing I could replace a third of the Hydro FeED with Bloom Booster at week two of flower, and two thirds of it at week four, then cut back on both before flush. I need to do more research, just thinking out loud as it were. I'll scope your germ post. I'll definitely need to take some time to dial it in. I like the idea of the silica sand. Have you tried top dress or do you always mix it in?

On the left 16 oz comp cup. Middle 12 oz beer can, 18 oz cup on right. The 16's are taller but not as wide.

In between a pair of 16oz plastic cups .Link to cup

I actually think these are a bit smaller than 16oz, just due to the thickness of the glass.

Yes definitely or collect the pollen. I've up potted and got some good stash, bred one of my entry's and got a decent amount of beans to play with, been no wrong answer so far with my experience in this. The contest that keeps giving.

In my tribe the males are sacrificed to please the matriarchs. At least for now.

I'm really proud of my young lady here, at least I'm pretty sure it's not a trap. I'm sure the other was a boy, though.

Any rate, this is my entrant, and she's doing pretty well @ 11 days as of this evening.

I'm still trying to learn how to collect pollen without it getting all over the place lol.
I've just done it naturally, I have a Bluepower x Blue lime pie almost done out back but I saw someone who cut the flowers and bundled them in a vase then set it on a decent size piece of glass on a dresser. Every day he tapped on them over the glass to collect it. Seemed to work.

I'd love to start chucking, but I just don't have the space to do it and control the outcomes reliably. Breeding naturally outside would be super fun!
