THC % - Let's get things right! Please...

Hi,

Well, I did some more research...
A THC molecule is a THC molecule....It doesn't matter if its origion was in a high potency strain or a low potency strain, it is the same one.
In the higher potency strain you will have more of these molecules per a given active material compared to the lower potency strain....but it is not any different - it is the same. It is not a "super" or "better" "key", it is the same.

So if you get one hit of a high potency stuff - wou will have in your system X amount of "keys". If you take one hit from the other stuff you will have in your system Y amount of "keys". Probably X > Y in numbers, but these are the same molecules. So it easy to make the amount the same - just take another hit and by now X=Y....
This is just an example - but you get my point.
And this is exactly why we aren't clear on it, and id love to see where you got your research from (link please?) but that defies exactly what we were saying. Smoking MORE of Y weed doesn't get me higher

Let me put it this way. One hit of potent shit will get me X high. Continuing to smoke will take me higher, but only to Y plateau. Smoking weak shit, will get me Z high, but smoking more of it doesn't get me any higher. So the potent stuff gets me high at first, then slowly higher the more i smoke. Weak shit will barely get me high, and not do anything passed that, no matter HOW much i smoke, Hope that makes a bit more sense.

Hi,

I do understand what you mean...
I can tell you I did A LOT of practical research myself..... ;-)
Sometimes I felt what you described but sometimes by smoking more I did reach the potent stuff high level...
Remember that also the other stuff (CBD, CBN...) matters. Sometimes the ratio between them is important...
I sure love to make a practical experiment and get several pure honey oil from several strains with the knowen THC% for each and see for myself...

I don't know....maybe in the potent stuff there are other active materials that are present only in them...

Hey Guys,

Looking forward to read the experts answers. Please try and answer question 2 as well. According to plain logic somking 1g of 20% strain should be the same as smoking 2g of 10% strain (assuming same mix of THC, CBD, CBN, etc...). Unless I miss something.
But if I not missing anything - than what the hell we race for the higher THC% strains? We can just smoke more of the lower level THC% strains....
Of course it is fun to read and learn and grow new strains with new colors and so on....
But for the end result - the body high and stone will be the same....
Again - maybe I miss something.

Thanks again guys, looking forward to make this thread active so at the end we all be little bit smarter about this issue.....
Why would you want to smoke twice as much bud that's less potent when you can smoke less of something more potent?

I started all the questions to really try and understand what is the real answer for THC % claimed for the strains.

Everyone would like to have more potent strain of course...
But I do want to know the real and correct answers for my questions because it is interesting to know.

From practical reasons - when you grow your stuff, I always as a dilema between yield and potency. If the answer to my original question is the same as my opinion than I can have an answer next time I will decide for which strain to go - because I can find the best strain to grow by choosing that sweet spot of yield and potency.

Since you can't get the answer you want just go through the grow and smoke report threads and see what other people review and make your choice then. A little searching would help, you might learn something else that you don't know. Jethead

kind of off subject but if you google "full spectrum labs" they are a facility that tests strains for thc and other cannabinoid levels. They have a long list of strains (no breeder names though) that they have tested. kind of interesting if you wanna check it out. im pretty sure super lemon haze was at around 18% according to their results
