THC Bomb Grow Journal

WEEK 3:

All 5 are still alive and growing fast.

The tallest is 9 inches. The next two tie at 8 and the shortest 2 are 5 inches.

It's looking like I'll have my other plants out of the "winter room" in about two weeks, then the THC Bomb will go under the HPS.

Pics enclosed.

Heads Up

They look like they are stretching a bit. Other than that, they look great. I've purposely been trying to lower my temps at night without getting it too cold in there. Yesterday it went to sixty three and today to sixty seven. I'm starting to get some purple in the leaves, I'm wondering if it will spread to the buds? Anyway, I have a few more weeks to go and my bomb is looking good. Not a massive top cola by any means but it has more buds on it than any of my other girls.

Merry Christmas all!

Week 4:

At the end of veg. I'm planning to cut the light down to 12/12 so I should know the boys from the girls before my next post.

I'm eagerly awaiting harvesting my other plants within the next week. Light is becoming an issue for the THC Bomb. They still seem healthy but stretched.

The tallest are 13 inches but the two that had problems with their stems early on have turned into runts. the smallest is only 5.5 inches.

Also one has developed lighter spots on her leaves. I'm not sure what's causing it but I think I'll give them a spraying with a organic pesticide/fungicide that I saw at home depot. More on that later.

Congrats on starting your seeds Muffinman.

I read that waiting to long to flower can cause a prolonged flowering cycle and thinner buds. With that in mind, plus I don't have too much space, I try to flower at the earliest opportunity.

I started waiting until a week or two into flowering to clone out of necessity (needed to know the boys from the girls and didn't have enough room to flower a clipping). But with the clones I have in flowering now I've noticed that my clones do better and finish out their veg cycle faster if cloned from a plant early into flowering.

Right now my lighting is less than ideal. Three cool 24watt tubes, 1 above and two on the walls, then a warm 35 watt cfl above. I'm hoping to change it up to one of these LED grow lights soon but the prices seem too good to be true. Has anyone heard anything about these?

Week 5 Happy New Year!

Sorry for the delay in posting this week. It's been a busy two days, harvesting the plants from the flowering room and getting the THC Bomb moved in.

No pics today, it's after dark time here.

We're down to 4 plants, one of which I know is a female and the other 3 haven't shown sex yet.

Killed one male earlier.

All of them were a little light starved so they appear to be loving their new home under the HPS.

I'll be taking some clones from the female a little later in the week. I want to wait and see if any of the other three turn out to be female first; space out the cloning over at least a couple plants so I'm not taking all of the branches.

I'm trying out a new brand of rooting hormone this time around, Rootone. It has a mixed-in fungicide and costs less then the Clonex I usually use. Anyone tried it before?

I'll try to get some more pics up before my next update.

On an off-topic note, has anyone tried out Medi-Bud yet? Now that strain sounds too good to be true. They're saying 850 grams per meter square. Check out the description:

Subscribed, I am about to start a THC Bomb grow in about a week. I already have some Lowryders going and am going to wait a couple weeks before putting the bomb in there...

One more is showing sex now. Female. I've got at least two girls and two undetermined. So, since the two that I know are female are the strongest out of the four left I cloned them. Four beautiful new clippings. They are doing great as you can see in the pics. I highly recommend the new rooting hormone I used, Rootone. These clones are looking way better than the last ones did, but some of that may be better genetics too.

That low rider sounded like an interesting strain. Smaller plants that flower super fast. When they're finished I would be curious to know how the yields end up. The one pic I've seen looked like the whole plant was one solid cola.

All said and done; 3 girls, two recently deceased boys.

Pics are of the two healthy girls, measuring around 2.5 feet tall and starting to get bushier.

Then there's the runt, lagging behind at 11 inches.

In the pic it looks like the plant stretched for light and was unable to suport itsef so it fell over, just make sure you plant it back down deep and keep the lights close.

I think you will find a square meter is just over 10 square feet, your calculation is for lineal feet and needs to be timesed by itself for surface area.
maybe this will help clear things up on the square meter versus a meter squared:from wikipedia 'Square metres are not necessarily the same as meters squared[2]: an area 2 metres wide by 5 metres long would be 10 square metres, while 10 metres squared means an area of 10 metres by 10 metres. So 10 metres squared equals 100 square meters.':peace:

I have one bomb going in my current grow of four girls, so far it looks good one week into flower, a bit stretchy though....maybe the Sativa coming out of it, it was a clone from a friend, pretty cool looking plant, it has 6-8 mains on it, should be fun to watch....under a 400 HPS in organic soiless, and OG nutes. Hoping to get two ounces off it, it is 22 inches tall 1 week into flower.

Like tying them down? I had them tied for the first few days under the HPS to get them to stand up strait because they were leaning every which way after vegging under the fluros.

For the most part the big ones don't seem to be getting much taller. as long as they don't block the runt from the light would I really need to train them?
