Thanksgiving....

I have my son and his family my in laws and my wife and I living on 10 acres .
So the holidays can be a big pain in the ass. Several years ago Mrs. Oldtimer and I broke from the old family tradition and started a new one. We no longer go to our family's homes for thanksgiving. It's all done at one house ( OUR'S). 3 meals in one day was a bit to much. So now at about 1:00 all the kids and grandkids and parents come to our house for one big meal and spend the day together. I'll fire the smoker up and the son and I will smoke one turkey and probably a little bit of my God bud x reeferman grapefruit and tomorrow we'll deep fry another bird for the Oldtimers thanksgiving Feast and sometime tomorrow I'll breakout some of our finest local homemade peach brandy which should be the perfect finish for a great day !
As a matter of fact I think I'll go get me a sip of the peach brandy now.
Happy Thanksgiving to my RIU family !

Damn, Deep fried turkey drums is perhaps one of the best things I've ever tasted.

Is it duelling “Turkey-day” threads?

Hmmmm….I have not looked at the other one in awhile. How do you know which one wins?

Early dinner with friends then i help serve at the alzheimers facility where my mom spent her last years. They were so nice to her there that i wanted to give back. I am everyone's son, brother, uncle, dad. Can only handle a couple of hours of that, though. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!!
That's awesome. I'm going to my mom's nursing home (alzheimer's also) to play some music for all the patients with no where to go. Then taking mom to my sister's place early (she's an awesome cook, she was on Master Chef) to meet the rest of the fam and friends. My kid gets back from CO at about 5pm, so I'll pick him up at the AP and then it's downtown to the Marriott Buffet dinner, incredible food. Me and my boy established this little tradition a few years ago, and we're sticking to it. I plan on gaining at least ten pounds before my 12 hour nap...

Usually I cook for lots of family people but this year I'll cook for guests in a restaurant. Blah blah blah.

No family in town everyone left this year, so I'll watch crappy movies and eat some take out. Thinking of going to the titty bar tho.
Hit me up, I'll be carving birds on the buffet line till 5, but free tomorrow night. I fucking hate working thanksgiving.
