Thanksgiving....

I always feel weird at a buffet. Like the guys/gals on the other side serving are just disgusted with all the pigging, gob stuffing, mouth breathers jamming as much as they can onto their plate like it's their last meal. Tell the truth, do you see it that way? Just a line of moving mouths/stomachs?

I've seen most of these people year in and year out. Some are cool, some are not, but I don't usually judge people. Not my style...I'm so socially awkward, I just try to make nervous conversation.

Depends on the scene I guess. I haven't really served a buffet in a while. I used to like it though because it was most likely a special occasion- people were on their best behavior and all dressed up then, not really being the disgusting pigs they'd be at Shoneys the next day. We used to drink the guest's wine though bottle at a time in coffee cups with lids all the time hidden behind the tables. I always liked drinking while working

Who has a dysfunctional family thanksgiving though? Fuck !!
That would be me! I just got disinvited to the family gathering this year... because someone ELSE can't act their age (70?!). I'm so fucking done with my family I don't even want to think about it.

Early dinner with friends then i help serve at the alzheimers facility where my mom spent her last years. They were so nice to her there that i wanted to give back. I am everyone's son, brother, uncle, dad. Can only handle a couple of hours of that, though. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!!
That's very nice of you. Those places can be a sad reminder of our mortality and greatest desires. Not being alone in our final days.

Give em a happy thanksgiving!
