Just had to set up shop in this thread since this is all about Texas......H-town holdin it down..nawm tom bout. Got a little grow goin on myself. Master Kush 11 days old (the oldest ones). Pics below. I only did pics for the two oldest.

Just wanted to drop in and say whats up to you guys, damn maybe I need to move to Austin, it looks like if any where in Texas would become legal it would be Austin first, like Denver, idk? I promise I will have pics soon but yall arent missing out on shit n e ways, it's all in veg I got 1 2 1/2 month old mom of Jack Herer, 6 rooted clones of Jack Herer about a week since transplanting to 7 gallon containers which will all become moms (damn this process takes forever) , and 3- foot tall Comrade's crossed to blue apollo's, but I thinking about doing huge 55 gallon rolling trash cans as pots for my moms, veg them about for about 4 months for cutting's then flower them out, what do yall think? is 55 gallons to much? would it be just as good as lets say 30 gallons, It just seems like all the pro's are stepping away from hydro and using huge pots instead. I would like some input, I know bigger pots means bigger plants and bigger plants means bigger buds which means, money does grow on trees ......

I am a newb when it comes to growing , I just started out on my first grow. I got 2 fem AK-48 plants that are 21 days old and aren't looking bad. Anyways I just read a article in High Times that discussed Tissue Culturing.
This may be something to consider. 1 tissue sample could in fact produce 100s if not thousands of genetic clones from which the tissue sample was taken. Another advantage is that you could start a plant that is completely free from diseases and pests. In other words you could start with a clean slate of familiar genes, even when taking tissue samples from plants that are sickly or pest-ridden.
Overall tissue culture removes the need to keep mother plants. There is even a starter set you can order to do this at home. Check out www.planttc.com . The site explains it better than I can.

So to all my fellow Texans out there......I took two pics of my oldest Master Kush plant and I wanted to know is it about time to start introducing nutes.
The plant will make 2 weeks old tomorrow (From when I planted in soil. I germ'd first using paper towel method), and approximately 2.25 inches tall.
The first pic is of 1 of 2 leaves that are slightly yellowing at the tip. The other leaf on the opposite side is showing a slight yellowing. I am using FFOF and 146 total watts of CFL, for right now. The second pic is an overall view of the plant.

BRING ON THE NUTES!! although ocean forest is an awesome soil, and they can survive well into veg without any sort of nutrient. they look ready, just start at 1/4 strength to see how they like it. then after a week or so ease into full strength, ramping it up along the way 1/4 - 1/2/ - 3/4 - full.. unless they are handling it well. in that case, jump from 1/4 or 1/2 to full strength.

I say go for it/ If you can afford the soil, do it. Fuck yeah man, everything is BIGGER in TEXAS!!!
I use 5 gallon buckets at the minimum. But I love BIGGER TOTES. Here check this pic of homegrown Bubba Kush

wel thats cool and all but I know how to clones while they are still on the mom and I very happy with all my results, tissue cult, may work but believe me its faster to root clones, high times is cool because what they stand for but at the same time very GAY! High times is really full of bunch of shit! The have cool stories every once in a blue moon but are mostly full of shitty products aimed to retarded stoners that want to pop some shwag just to be the next wanna be hippie, sorry maybe Im just angry with pot ind.. but If you buy all the high times (like I do) they will show a pic of something they say is whatever, well two months later they will show the same damn pic and call the same strain something else....BS... fuck the BS and do what works as a whole group.. If you also read the new high times that just came out, they said you could root clones by just placing them to 16oz cups, ( without a dome) yeah if you 30% success ratio,lm sorry but its a mag that has run dry on ideas, and they keep posting the same shit, which we should all know, just from common sense.....
