Sugar Water?

I was talking to a friend today and he told me about a feed his brother gives his girls during flower.

Its standard household sugar mixed with water, i've never heard of this or anything else like it but he's done it with a few crops and says it really does help your plants buds grow.

Now im not stupid, i know to ask the people of RUI before i even contemplate this working. So would it strangely work?

Thanks.

What happened to people using just regular nutes?

I seen a guy talking about using soy sauce and vitamins on another thread.....

As far as it working or not, I'm thinking it wont, but I am unsure. Never tried it.
I use actual nutes. 3 part GH solution. Works great. And I didn't even have to add any soy sauce to it.

before i put my foot into my mouth, i will let someone else with more knowledge answer this one. but it doesnt sound like something i would do at all...

i mean if you have a colonized beneficial bacteria or Mycorrhizae or something that feeds on sugars you could opt to use Molasses to feed them with,
but ive never heard of anyone using household sugar.

I only use nutes myself, he told me he used it with the "big bud" nute, that i know a few people use. Really strange but i had to know if anyone else has ever tried it.

Never heard of soy sauce nute haha. Crazy people, but it might work lol.

I only grow 1 plant at a time as its a nice amount for my personal use so i probably wouldn't use it if it did work. IMO nutes are specifically made so what could be better then a researched item.

I've seen this in jorge cervantes book "the ultimate growers bible" it did show comparisons of buds growm with and without sugar and there was a big difference. The best book by far i thought for all the help you need for a new grower. he has a few dvds out too

Not sure about the whole adding sugar thing tho, never used it myself as ive heard it affects the taste, and not for the better.

if sugar is what you want, than pucker up bitch! lol.. in all seriousness use molasses. You can use the shit from the grocery store or use horticulture molasses from the home improvement store.. its cheaper and will probably make more sense in the long run.. but to answer your question. YES sugar is wonderful for any plant!
