thank you for all your wisdom and the experience you are sharing.
I've been following this thread and realize your recipe is constantly evolving.
I just watched your youtube video and noticed you used fish bone meal along with the bat guano.
I don't recall reading the fish bone meal being used before in any incarnation of your recipe before, I admit it's been a few months
since I last followed this thread and haven't kept up lately.
Is this something new you are trying out to supplement the guano? (P)
I don't recall reading what kind of guano you used before if you ever actually did mention the brand or P#

If this is new; Did you notice you needed more Phosphorous in your recipe?
How does the crop compare to one where fish bone meal wasn't added to the mix?
I'm trying the indonesian bat guano but have no history to work from as it's the first batch.

I simply think fish is a better source that cow for this.
I use 5# of Bat Poop you can see the nut rating in the vid. I am now using Happy Frog.

Plants look happy just pulled 6 off a Sugar Blossum so id say all systems go.

Right I saw the bat poop there, the reason for asking was I noticed it was a 0-7-0 iirc and the fish bone meal was a 3-13?-0 (where did the cow come in at though? I haven't read you use any cow poop in any version of your mix.)

Which really puts the overall P# much higher than using guano alone. Also the fish meal boosted up the overall N# too.
Hence me asking if you felt the need to boost the P numbers higher, or if it was just a batch made up for a certain feeder of plant.

The indonesian bat poop I'm using is only a .5-12-.2 so my overall P number is lower than what you used in the youtube batch. (as well my N# )

One of my friends thinks I'm kind of crazy for trying this mix; since they only ever used a promix and fish emulsion and their harvests were nice.:weed:

Possibly a dum question I already know the answer too, yet with this new version of the mix and your wisdom.
Do you think you would feed a fish emulsion to the plants; if you were using an older version of your recipe that did not include the fish bone meal originally? or would you stick to your saying of not feeding the plants anything but water with any version of your super soil? (does any of that make sense?)
I can trial and error it but thought I'd get your view point and possibly save me from a minor setback.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm going to note it down and try it out down the road in a new mix.

Sub- I can send you some alpaca beans if you want to experiment with them. I think they have quite different characteristics of most manure like cow, etc. They have multiple stomach chambers, and process what they eat quite efficiently. It doesnt even smell much and is in more like a deer bean form.

I will be trying your soil mix within the next couple months, and I want a couple grows with yours to establish a baseline before I add anything like a few ground up beans.
5 to 10 ground up beans per supersoil batch will be my starting point in a couple years unless you tell me otherwise.
I am pretty new to this and just started experimenting with my walking free fertilizer recently.
Most havent even heard of the word or animal with the name of alpaca, much less have any experiences its potential fertilization contributions. Bigger alpaca farms sell it like gold, but I personally dont know shit, but I want to, and thats why I am asking ;-)
I do know that last year it at least doubled+ my neighbors tomato harvest to put it mildly and I moved during the summer so no personal crops yet, will have get back with you in a few years on that...lol

Post on with info nuggets, and many thanks for the plethoric proportions of valued input!

Sub- I had a question regarding if you use hydroton or some sort of rocks in the bottom of your pots for better drainage and oxygen to the roots. I have been mixing and cooking soil for quite some time and always have used about 2-3 inches of hydroton layered below the soil. I am now finding that it appears to be more of a pain in the butt then anything else. I have always been experimenting with my own mix, but i mixed up some of your supersoil in december and am eager to compare the differences. I used FF Oceans forest 2 to 1 to light warriors. So we will see in about 2 months how your SS works for me!

P.S. Your NEW Colorado Reps are awesome(thank god, no offense to anyone). I finally got a hold there contact info, and now we carry your full line and are happier than ever. I cracked six strains so far and cant wait to finally get a chance to try your genetics. I have heard nothing but good things so this is exciting. Big props from CO to you and Mz. Jill.

Hey Sub I got the guy at my local hydro shop to order the Roots for me but the BioBiz is not something he can get. I know you said Ocean Forest isn't that great but would the Light Warrior be ok to mix with the Roots or can you think of an alternative which is better than LW?

Use Roots plain dont ruin it by adding OF or LW I used 8 bags of roots for almost 2 years with great results.

Sorry if this has been asked already but what do you recommend if I can't get Roots? They don't sell it where I live.

BTW I'm a big fan. I'm looking to get some JTR or Spacequeen. I've been told that it has excellent pain relieving properties. I broke my back a couple of years ago and I'm looking for a good strain for pain relief. :peace:

It's time for ne to make a new batch and I recently watched your video and wanted to copy it exactly. But I was a little shocked to see that the bags of Biobizz light were 25 a piece! That woulda been 100 to make 2 batches like I had planned.

How big of a diff would it make if I just used all Roots instead?

Would you recommend changing the recipe in your vid if I substitute the Biobizz for more Roots in my mix?

Thanks again Sub!

$100 bucks? I must ask. Is this in the realm of sanity?

Would someone please explain to me why BioBizz is charging that much for such a small amount?

I smell a rip off. :cuss:

Biobiz is high because its imported from Canada and While I get an incredible deal at my local I am still paying 15

Using just Roots is a perfect alternative IMO
I use biobiz now because it has a slightly diff make up and I think the two combined roots and bio light make a great combo.
