Northern Lights#5 Bcsc.....if you can get them to germinate, it is the most calming, good feeling herb around! Not regular NL or NL #1, more paranoid inducing.

Just some background.
I have been smoking weed over 30 years.
I have smoked all types of shapes and sizes and varieties.
I am a worrier.
I have yet to smoke any type of weed that did anything about anxiety. In the best of cases, it just didnt affect my anxiety. Most increases it.
I damn sure won't be taking valium or xanax or any other type of anti-anxiety. They are worse than the problems usually.
This is how I handle anxiety. I go out each day, do my job to the best of my abilities and come home and do my chores. When I sit down, I know I have done all I can do, or be expected of me to do in a days time. Then I can relax peacefully.

Any good suggestions OGEvil?

I wouldn't mind trying out some High cbd lines to see what the effects are for me. Might be going medical depending what my head doctor says next week, I refuse to take anymore pharma drugs for it, as they have landed me in the hospital for surgery once already.

I've been smoking for about 15 years, I enjoy the high aspect but sometimes it's too much to go out super stoned while having bad anxiety days. I think the high potency strains kind of counteracts the anti anxiety aspects when you smoke past a certain point. The biggest bit for me is smoke in moderation, wait for effects, then smoke more or not. Smoking too much can lead to me being self conscious and leaves me wondering if everyone around me knows how ridiculously high I am which leads to more anxiety. Of course strains have an effect on this too, there's quite a few strains out there, like a nice bubba/hindu kush, that leaves me in a state of "no fucks given" which is one of the nicest feelings to me personally. To 100% not have to worry about anxiety makes dealing with it a lot easier, half the battle to me at least is wondering when the next attack is going to come.

A proper dose is just as key as the strain IMO, it can go bad both ways.

Cannatonic is a good CBD strain i hear

I suffer from anxiety as well so have been testing a number of strains for a while.

The one strain that i keep coming back to is dj's blueberry. Ive made some crosses with it using shiva skunk, white shark, white rhino and mango. So far the shiva, mango and rhino have been the best for anxiety. The shark cross is a great day time smoke as it is a fairly clear but stoney effect, it seems to keep me awake at night though.

Hope this helps mate because anxiety is a real bitch to deal with!

Can you tell me more on the other NL strains that do not help? I grew out Classic Seeds NL 1 and am getting good results but am open to other types of NL. Nirvana NL was not helpful to me btw. Sensi Ortega is a NL1xNL5, no idea what that would bring. The bcsc beans are expensive and the Sensi are too but might try another round with either.

theres new research that is suggesting that strains with high thc-v help bloc out anxiety all together by limiting the connections made in the brain for the flight or fight response effect. now one of the higher strains is Durban poison but only if it is growin out to its full potential which a lot of people don't do check it under a bud scope to see the amount amber in the heads

im sorry but non of those strains look like kalimist which is suppose to be one of the most sativa strains you can get Ive been growing it for over 10 years now and those are mostly indica doms
The seeds are "western winds " (kali mist) from Sagarmatha seeds. You can easily see the plant in the left foreground which displays classic, long and narrow leaves. It looks very much like a sativa to me. Yeah, 90% sativa, according to Sagarmatha seeds. One of my plants is foxtailing and looking just like the pic on Sagarmatha's site. Feel free to look up more info on western winds and educate yourself about this strain. Most people can easily spot a sativa in a garden full of indicas. Apparently, there are exceptions

I struggle with diagnosed anxiety disorder and my best bud has ADHD and anxiety problems.

I grew Royal Highness last round. It was a freebie from Royal Queen Seeds. We both loved it and found it very helpful with our anxiety. Seemed to really help us both. It went into flower way early and I only got about 18g from the one plant.
Described as a high CBD strain, Sativa: 60% Indica: 40%. Here's the seedfinder link:

I just ordered some Painkiller XL (also RQ). Will let folks know how she works out.

interesting, i have seen some info that put thc-v in the anxiety producing category
nirvana's PPP is supposed to have Durban parentage
and so far it has been the only strain that really lowered my anxiety levels
a very different feel from all other weed i have tried

i've found indica's and a vaporizer are best. avoid burning (combustion) and blunts.

someone mentioned accomplishing tasks before smoking and thats good advice. i generally feel better when i smoke at end of the day after running errands. after a gym workout is the best :-)

In addition to helping my anxiety, the high CBD strains also really enhance my guitar practice. Not, stoney, strummy, playing, all night long..... I mean actual learning new things, focus, and maybe even improves my "ear."

huh, .....I bet there is a thread about strains and guitar playing already, isn't there?

This is interesting. Have a link? Durban is pretty well known for being anxiety inducing. THC-V tends to be higher in plants grown outdoors as well from what I've read, but the sources for that info are meh at best. No studies or anything.
