Hello everyone. It's great to be hear and i'm glad I can finally share my first grow. I'm a personal grower for medicinal use.
1 Blue Berry and 1 Purple Haze = Hoping for an ounce a plant.

I am growing in a 2x2x4 Gbox grow tent. The quality of the tent is actually pretty good. For lighting, I got duped into a 180w(100w~120w draw) UFO being a noob and ended up settling with it being just supplemental to my CFL's. I'm hoping to use 8 x 25w x 1600 lumen cfls as well. I have a ventech 4 inch 100cfm inline fan with a carbon scrubber. 2 x 120 mm pc fans acting as an intake. 1 x 6 inch oscillating fan for air circulation.

I know some people have concern over lighting but I want to grow 4 small plants in the tent. Some say its not possible and some say it is. I know its not enough light for a larger 3'-4' tall plant, but a topped 2' plant after flowering should be fine right? I think the narrower grow area will reflect much more of the side light back to the plant instead of letting it slip away laterally like in a bigger room. We'll see..

My goal is 4 plants but right now I have settled with only 2. The reason being. I can't get my tent below 84 degrees with only 4 x 25w cfls and the ufo. I had no idea cfls would get so warm. I guess I need a bigger fan when it comes time to flower.( **or If anyone has a decent extra inline fan laying around after upgrading let me know**) My pc fans are acting as intake to help.

This grow journal comes down to helping indecisive people like me make decisions, as I struggle to make mine... and maybe I can help by giving reassurance to others when trouble shooting my own issues I come across. Reassurance is something I needed many times so far. So Rock n Roll.

Let's go on this adventure!

Link worked! Nice setup buddy its going to be a sea of green in there with 4 plants! Ill be tagging along for the ride

A little update... I got my titan 190 cfm inline 4" fan ordered. It'll be here next week hopefully. At least in time for flowering. It seems this will solve my heat issues. I'm averaging 84 degrees with only 4 lights and a 100cfm fan/filter. Unless you areally using leds don't use 100cfm fan for small areas with cfls ... they are not cool. If my tent was more open I bet it would be cooler. The cfls just heat it up within a minute or 2. Anyway...

My serrated blades are pushing through on one plant. The other is not sprouting yet. But the taproot is anchoring. Just waiting for the sprout.

What's up man, what growing medium are you going to try? Yeah, CFLs are hotter than anything. You could go get the LED bulbs that are just like the CFLs and they are cooler. I have the same size tent. Do you have an are for veg/clone or will you be running from seed every time? What size pot were you thinking about using?

Im growing jiffy pots until the plants get a few inches tall. Then moving them into 1 gal of fox farms ocean with perlite.

VEG: DAY 6
(180w led 18" away, 2 x 25w CFL cool spectrum 2"-3" away)
As we wrap up week one, things are looking good.
The first sprout looks great. Nice fuzzy green, secondary leaves are pushing through fast. Maybe 1.5 inches wide x tall. Her retarded sister finally sprouted on day 6. The bigger sister sprouted less than a day after I planted. Hopefully the new one catches up? I'm waiting on additional seeds from ILGM. I ordered them a day apart from each other but my second order is over a week behind now. Hopefully they show up. I want to plant one of them along with the other 2. Hopefully trying to get additional variety.

I also bought a fan upgrade. I am content it will finally help my heat issues. The previous ventech 4 inchi had (allegedly 100 cfm) can barely pull air through my filter and push that air 20 feet to outside. On full blast. The speed controller wouldn't even work with it. I would get the fan to turn on with the dial all the way up, and would barely turn it down and it would slow and stop. My pc fans adjusted up and down just fine with it...... So this titan 190cfm seems like a much better option. I HAVE to be able to cool my tent down in the 70ies during flower, and it wasn't possible with 8 cfls in that confined space. So..... I happen to find another person with the exact same issue as me. And he settled for a 190 cfm high output fan.

Here is what I am learning so far. Especially for my first grow. Don't settle for cheap ebay stuff unless you know for a fact that it is quality. Many reviews on these companies sites are fake. Get actually customer reviews first. If you can't find any. Don't buy them,
I am on a budget and can't afford top shelf stuff so I fell into the cheap options too easy. I would have bought a better led. Instead of a 70 dollar ufo. It seems to work fine along CFL's though. But we'll see . This could be the right journal for small scale growers on a budget

Hey! Thanks for the comment, everything looking good here. Your spouts got a bit more spindly then mine, but I keep my lights just far enough they nearly burn daily to keep the girl as squat as possible (8 true nodes and barely 4 inches tall, trying to keep 1/2 inch between as long as possible) . . . Just remember the white dots on stalk below the cotyledons are root nodes (you'll see them when she sheds) and to bury just below cotyledons when you transplant. Made my SSH go crazy with little shock.

ILGM - AK47 is wonderfully smooth, and very potent. Great daytime smoke, mood enhancing, great pain relief (helps with my back fusion) and a heavy couch lock for about 30 mins, then comes the energy!!!

DAY 7:
The end of the first week. I replanted the 2 kids in 1 gal buckets for now. I also got the fan put on them for stem strengthening. For now the led is about 18 inches away (hopefully not too close) and the 2 cfls..
