Plant 3 definitely has a chunkier bud structure than Plant 4, and didnt stretch quite as much. Sadly I only ended up with clones from Plant 2 and Plant 3 (1st try cloning). I don't think I'll be keeping Plant 2 around, because it's a bit stretchy/lanky for my tastes. Stoked I was able to hang onto a cut of Plant 3 though. I could see running it again. :)

I've been thinking for a bit now that it seemed like my pistils went orange pretty early, and the buds seemed to stop producing new calyx/pistil growth before there was much substance. Today I found two big fat bananas on Plant 3 (my favorite). Didn't find any on the other 3, but who knows...

Fan-fucking-tastic... Looks like I'm gonna end up with a solid supply of super frosty, wispy little nuglets filled with immature seeds. Un- stoked indeed...

My cab is 100% light proof. Looks like either something was genetically wonky with Plant 3, or the anti-nosey-roomy padlock needs to be reinstalled...

thats a shame bro, but imho, she spit nanners cause she is container stressed big time...just my opinion.....

You are probably right... These are the biggest pots I've ever used (6.2 actual gal), but I've also never grown anything out anywhere near this big. I didn't expect them to take off quite like they did... More stretch/growth after 12/12 than anything I've ever grown (JTR, Space Queen, Kushberry, XJ-13, and White Widow).

All my indoor experience to date has been with clones... I guess I underestimated the vigor of seed plants.

I'll be picking up some 7-gal smart pots, and flipping to 12/12 a little sooner with my Cheese Quake. Also planning to give mainlining a shot.

i think growers need to realize the problems container stress can cause....any time you get a root spiral, you have a concentrated root mass of feeder roots packed in a small area.....they are at the bottom of the container where any imbalances are intensified big time....PH, PPM, salts etc......some plants are more sensitive to these imbalances, and throw nanners and pollen sacks cause they are freaking out thinking that they are going to die soon........this is totally natural, but so many growers (not necessarilly you) want to blame the breeder for unstable genetics...but it is simply a survival mechanism that ALL strains have.....imho, switch to smart pots.....you will be amazed at the lack of problems just by focusing on root spiriling alone....good luck bro.....nugs

So i have a question nugs. I have 2 clones, and 2 fem seeds in my box. I just killed one due to early hermie (fem seed) and now I have anotheer hermi'ing (fem seed) All are in 1 gal pots going on 3 weeks of flower. I know i need bigger pots but I cant change that, this is a micro grow. My question is this. If my clones dont hermie due to being root bound, its safe to say that the hermies are most likey geneticly hermie correct? Seeing as they were fem seeds to begin with?

Nugs- I definitely don't have enough experience to be passing blame off to anyone (or anything) else... I'm not that arrogant. I realize in the heat of the pissed-off moment I mentioned that something may have been genetically wonky with that plant...:wall:

I'm def planning to use bigger pots next time, maybe even smart pots. My only hesitation is moving those giant smart pots around seems like it would be difficult.

The grow was looking so good too that pandoras box was looking dank. Ive got some ripped bubba, qush and chernobyle around day 16 of flower and im in 10 gallon pots vegged for 60 days i hope my pots are big enough and i get no nanners. I have a few pandoras box in the veg room 3.5 weeks old. i cant wait to run them.

Yeah, it was a shame seeing male junk sprout from my favorite PB. I actually just found a ballsack on Plant 4 last night, too. What can ya do...

But... They still look damn tasty, and I don't think they are producing much seed. I have only found one semi-mature seed, actually. They are really lanky, and the buds are pretty small, but they look and smell delicious. Today is day 56 (end of 8th week), and the trichomes are mostly cloudy with some clear and the odd amber here and there. I think they will get the chop next Tuesday or so.

I kept cuts of Plant 2 and Plant 3, but I think I will be tossing them. Space is tight, and I don't think I can justify running these again after these ballsack issues. True, I probably caused them myself, but I don't want to dedicate another 4 months to finding out....

Sucks about the PB. but at least you have your CQ going right?! i hope that it turns out better for you this time around.

Yup. I've got 10 happy Cheese Quake seedlings at about 13 days since sprout. I'm making a few adjustments this round:

-As soon as my PB's are chopped, the CQs will be vegging in the big cab under a 600 watt MH. The PB's were under a 600 HPS for late veg and bloom (early veg under T5 for both). Also plan to run the MH until about 1.5 or 2 weeks into bloom to further minimize stretch. (thoughts on that?)

-I will be mainlining them for 8 heads each (thanks for spreading the knowledge, Nugs!).

-They will be in 7-gal smart pots for late veg and bloom. The PB's were (are) in 6.2 gallon hard pots (#7 tall nursery pots).

-I will resist the urge to veg them too big. I'm discovering that an under-filled canopy of happy buds is better than a jungle.

Thats all I can think of off the top of my head... Any other recommended changes?

I am questioning the smart pots, maybe I dont water enough with them ( I also have a few fungus gnat so that doesnt help ) I am growing 12/12 from seed and so far the plants in plastic containers always grow much bigger than the smart pots one. Do you wait until the top 1 inch of soil is dry to water again or you water them daily? I have grown plant with the main stem the size of a quarter almost and in the smart pot the biggest is the size of a dime!! surprisingly they yield fairly well for the size of the stalk but yeah I cannot say I am super sold on them yet. Thanks for the inputs

to the OP NICE PLANTS BUDDY

go bigger than 7 gallons with the smart pots. hell I dont veg (12/12 from seed, still kind of veg though) and my plants in 10 gallons container get SO MUCH bigger than the ones in the 7 gallons smart pot

sorry I got too many pics and I can't find what I wqas looking for, but here you see a plant in a 7 gallons, next to it 10 gallons, and the group shot is a different grow in the tent, they are in 7gallons smart pots and they all have tiny little stalks

Getting close... Here's a shot of a Plant 3 bud for you. I will take shots of all 4 before/during harvest. I think that'll be in about 3 days or so, maybe sooner.

spicy sativa i was reading a post of yours that you were gonna use the metal halide the first two weeks of flower to try and minimize the stretch i did this my last run and it really helped from what i could see. Then again it could also be the strains im growing they might not stretch much. Ripped Bubba, and Qush didnt stretch much a little the chernobyls i left under the metal halide didnt stretch too much but then again it was topped and trained. It does work pretty good tho im currently trying to use both mh/hps in flower for both spectrums. I have a 1000 watt hps in the middle over 6 plants mostly over 4 but two are getting light from it on the ends and sides im running a couple 400 watt lights a mh and a hps. i originally wanted to try all 4 under the 1000 but they got too big for that hence the added lights. im really hoping that my pb doesnt get any nanners i found one that i am really hoping is a female. Its 4 weeks into veg and its got trichs already and the stem is so sticky and stanky. If its not a female i might use it for a few little projects for fun.

I think you may have found the same pheno as my "Plant 3". The stem on that one was sticky and stanky way before the others had much smell to speak of.

i cant say all that as its still young and hasnt shown anything yet its just got far more little trichs on it than the other one i only planted a few seeds of the pandoras box i kinda wanna run outta room and have a few males cause then i could catch up i have to much going on and not the space. With what space i do have im trying to veg for 60 days and get all the females into little bushes before they go into the flowering room. the first sign of a male and its gone unless its a truly exceptional looking male then i might put it someplace a ways away and let it flower.

I snapped a few pictures of Plant 2, Plant 3, and Plant 4 last night. Plant 2 is starting to kick it up a notch with a nice burst of new pistils. It may go another week!

I was hoping they would finish ASAP so that I can move my CQ's into the big cab, but they may have to wait. Or, I might just have to up-pot and let them be a little cozy (cramped...) in the T5 cabinet for a few days.
