IF they do anywhere close to what these sylvania cob bulbs did in veg then I will be very happy with it. :-)

Thats not too bad! I was talkin to a friend about building a water cooling system for a DIY led light and how much more efficient it would be. A hassle but itd be cool. If only computer water cooler were cheaper but a single one can be well over 50 depending on size of radiator.

Good luck with the build!

I "think" I have my ducks in a row... LOL! I have some lighting experience you could say though. ;)

Jig/DTG

Thanks guys!! :-) I am formulating my plan as I wait for the materials to arrive. The Cobs look like they have shipped. :-) I am pretty excited to see what this can do too. I have 100W of LED in bulbs and it is vegging way better than my 250w of CFL's. Plus I can be about 12" from the plant and it still penetrates through. I am expecting good things from 330w.

IF it works as well as I am thinking I should be able to cut my "grow" power bill by at least half if not more. This would be awesome.

BTW. Gotta give props to Stardustsailor and Supra for doing alot of product research and testing. This helped my own efforts in choosing the right materials for what I want to accomplish. Everyone else building these DIY lights also and documenting it because that has been helpful too. In return I will post up about my build in a different thread to help the effort.

ALSO!!! Any of you guysi in the have about 3-4 clones ready that you want to get rid of? :-) LOL I am planning on running the cabinet hps at 250/400 and the tent with 330w led. Could use something new to fill in the spaces.

WOw Jig showed up, I havn't seen you on here in a minute!! I was kinda wondering with all this talk about LEDs what you were doing with yours.

You get your demo work all done ?

Wish you were closer buddy I've got girls completely ready to go!

I am gonna build two bars like that but with 3 cobs and 2 of the sylvania 21w bulbs. Later I will build a third bar with 4 cobs and that will be it for the tent. If it works I will put six of them in the cabinet and go from there. I was doing the math and I may be able to drop my bill by 2/3rds if this works out well.

Hell yeah and thats probably not factoring in the amount of cooling youd be saving too! I can run my whole room at 75 and not have my temps go over 80 and i have almost 1000w of LEDs going. I remember i used to have to set it to 68-70 just to get the inside of my tent to be 75-90 sometimes.

Cant wait to see the rest of this build evolve.

If I could run 1k of led, reduce temps, and power cost, I could totally seal my room and run CO2........

If this works out for you SG, maybe you can build me some panels to meet my needs? 5x5 coverage with enough power to compare with my 1k atleast.

Well... hold on cuz all the parts but the drivers have shipped. LOL! I will tell you honest once I get this built and grow with it. Ill be doing a write-up of the fixture too so i can try to make it as simple as possible.

Ive wanted to run CO2 for so long and once we fix our door on our growroom i think we might just do it. Temps with LEDs are amazing. Im about to put all 925w of LEDs i have into my new 5x5 flower tent and hope it performs similar to a 1000w but with 1/3 the heat.
