Solar garden light keeping my plant in veg?

Or am I overthinking again and the gallon jug filled with boiling water around 930pm (latest I can do put it out when I go to work for nightshift) will keep the plant warm enough, long enough under a small green house?

Or is some sort of powerred heat needed to make it through the night? not sure how long the jug would stay warm for.

Hell, I could even wrap the battery blanket AROUND the jug...

Or.... you could start light dep asap. Then just keep her covered every night when it's going to get too chilly. Filling a two liter bottle full of super hot water and them putting that at the base of the plant and then covering them up has never failed me....and we get early frosts where I live. Either way as long as your careful I think you will be fine hon
It got removed today when i had the eureka moment. What do you cover the plants wit, with the hot water ganga girl? A small make shift greenhouse? Clear plastic? Black? Hell ill put a space heater in with her if this is going to work.

Its my first ever plant, i did take 5 clones off her recently and have a tent inside setup to grow those clones, but to hell if i want mom to be a complete waste
GG, you beat me to the answer!

Morriston: You really want to focus on keeping the air around the plant about 60F at night or even the day when it drops as the days go by. Roots in the ground should be ok as the earth holds heat longer. On the flip side - it takes longer to heat up also. Colder plant means slower growth and development....
I do suspect that the light did slow the flip.....Oddly, is it even on both sides as far as development? I saw an outdoor 35 ft from a night area light CFL. The side exposed was about a week and a half behind the side away from the light.....I thought it was cool but, the owner didn't!

Good luck.

Both sides of the plant are exactly the same as far as I can tell. The green house would probably have to be 3x3Xwhatever height I figure shed stretch to. I trained her into a bush but kind of let that one side cola get a little taller than the rest

What do you guys think my chances are if I try and dig it up, pot it in a 7 gallon smart pot and move it inside to finish in the tent? Im a tad concerned I wont be able to keep the air temps up. I dont even know what strain Im dealing with here, could be 10 weeks or more still....

Bigger pot - plastic 10 gallon at least and 10 days of veg to reset root health/stress.

just off the top of my head - gotta go, wife's home.

Seems like a crazy idea when its doing so good outside. Im on the fence on what do to.

Wish I didnt plant it right there on that little hill now though, gonna be a pita to get a decent seal against the ground.

Propane heater is a good idea, possibly slightly expensive though, dont know how well a plastic green house would retain any of the heat though

I gave my buddy a handful of clones, his first outdoor also. He's got lots of trich's, heavy bud development (~3 weeks in relative to my indoor).
That light has definitely had an effect.

I think the idea of burying a heat source is brilliant. We don't have to worry about the cold here along the coast of Southern CA, but it areas where it's "chill" in winter, should work wonders. Have to be sure to waterproof it, some "heat shrink", bury it deep below (heat rises). Be sure to take the soul temp periodically during this run, do the same next year with the heat source in place. Should be a drastic difference (in both temp and growth).

I also feel the the light dep idea will help you get back on track. Use a tent (cut the base out) and throw a tarp over it (maybe even a heavy quilt/blanket). Should do the trick (cover her for a solid 24 hours).

I was out checking the aea of the plant @ 4am this morning and I cant believe I didnt catch this sooner, those lights give off alot of light! It was completely black there now though, with the 2 closest lights removed.

I also thought up another solution, based on the oil radiant heaters you see, that aparently stay quite warm after the unit shuts off. Instead of filling a large jug with water, and wrapping the battery warmer around a water filled jug, I could fill a jug with oil instead (dads got lots of used motor oil around) and I figure the oil may retain heat longer than water?? Only downfall could be initially heating the oil, I could let the battery warmer do the work starting with 70* ambient temp oil as I could bring the container inside daily. But with water I could fill the container with near boiling water to start, although Im sure it would cool rather quickly early in the night.

Again Ill have to test this theory

Can you get an electric line out there? Radiant oil heater - brilliant! will hold a set temp and are affordable -You inspired me to look at these!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cuori-1500-Watt-Electric-Oil-Filled-Radiant-Portable-Heater-/262594680627?hash=item3d23dcd733:g:O3YAAOSwMtxXv2K-

There are a shit ton of used one's as low as $19.00, you pick up the shipping.
I love Ebay!

Still no real signs of flowerring with this plant, and the nights are very close to 12 hours darkness, this girl might freeze to death before budding at this rate

Hey guys, first time outdoor grow and I am possibly over thinking this. Its sept 1st and my plant is showing little to no signs of flowering. I waant to concerned as there is still almost, 13 hours of sun here.

But then I seen my neighbours plant, he gifted me my clone and is pretty positive they are the same strain, we both planted late june, i lst'd mine and give it nutes, he just lets his grow. His plants main cola is full of bud you can see them from even far away fattening up, every branch has lots of bud forming. Mine has none

Got me thinking, whats different. Then i noticed my solar light, only 3 feet away, and its a decently bright led one. Could this sucker be keeping my plant in veg? I removed it today, but i wont know if it flips to flower because of this, or because summer solstice is just 3 weeks away.

Is the idea of a small solar light placed thia far away keeping a plant in veg retarded or plausible. Pics attached
the spot u have the plant in i can tell u right now its gunna bud like shit your friends plants are budding because he prob has his in full sunlight were by the looks of thing u have your's stashed in a corner

Forgot to add this 2nd pic, some pistils showing I believe, but nothing like my neighbour who could have smokable bud soon. I am in canada also, we get frost here, going to be a tight finish
Measure the light output. Eventually a plant can push itself into flower even in light if it's weak enough. The whole just one photon meme is BS. 30 lux plus to keep it in vegetative state, at least with my strains. I'll get more accurate numbers in a bit.

Maybe 10 feet from a 600W MH and the plant is shading itself to 0-3 lux. Flowers on the back, veg in the front. This is why I've stopped using light deprivation chambers.

When I took the picture yes it was a shade part of the day. My plant actually recieves more hours of direct sunlight than his, mine recieves it from 8am - 12noon directly, then the shade moves in from the tree beside it. My plant is by no means small either, its 2.5' high but almost 3.5' wide and deep, its been topped and LST'd to keep its height down.
